I was looking through old drawings from when I was in Japan and I found these of Kazu & Mal (OCs) quoting some of my favorite tumblr posts that have no idea what anatomy is. Kazu can be… he’s. He’s pretty dumb. Absolute genius with music, doesn’t know shit about anything else tho. Mal knows anything you can Google if you just give him a few seconds.

BONUS FACTS ABOUT THESE GUYS
They are in a band—Kazu’s band, which is named Noisemönger because he thought it looked “more metal” with the umlaut (they play alternative rock, think Asian Kung-fu Generation). Kazu is lead singer/guitar, Mal is drums, Kazu’s older bro Kiyo is backup guitar and Kiyo’s bestie Lin plays bass.
Kazu & Mal have been friends since they were 10. They grew up in Tokyo (Mal’s the token White Guy of my entire cast). Kazu’s personality was heavily influenced by Sohma Kyo from Fruits Basket (he’s really short-tempered and defensive but kinda tsundere). He and his two siblings have albinism, hence his long sleeves in all the pics (sun protection—he also has cool shades). Mal speaks Japanese fluently and Kazu only speaks Japanese.
Kazu is kind of an idiot! He though Häagen-Dazs was Vietnamese! He didn’t believe giraffes or reindeer were real animals until high school! Apparently he’s also completely misunderstood the structure of the human body! Mal isn’t a genius but he’s a fast talker and an even faster texter. His worst fear is being somewhere with no phone signal.
