If you're a visual artist, reblog and put in the tags advice that actually helped you improve your art, that isn't just the same "keep on practicing!! :)" platitudes.
#if you can't draw something a second time you don't know how to draw it#sunk cost fallacy is the bane of most fledgling artists i've ever known ( including myself )#they draw something and like how it looks too much to consider redrawing it if it turns out something isn't working#or put a disproportionate amount of effort to rework everything else around a single part they like#ex. the hands look good but the drawing still isn't working so they try to redraw everything but the hands#to try and force them to work#but not only do you sometimes need to redraw the hands#chances are they will look better when you do#because the idea works both ways#if you could draw something the first time you /do/ know how to draw it again#so have trust in yourself + your ability to learn from each attempt#draw with intention and give yourself permission to try it again better
