i’ve been exploring the new map and i wonder if amelie is fixing the place up herself; in the description is says the estate has been abandoned for quite some time before widow took residence herself, and this is the neatest looking room in the place aside from the library, where her things are. maybe she’s genuinely patching the place up? that’d be kinda soft.
she also keeps a picture of her and gérard in her library. the fact that she keeps that there, and when we saw her visiting his grave in the christmas comic is...really sad. imagine knowing you miss someone, knowing you loved them and killed them but not properly being able to experience the right emotions about it. you can’t be sad. you just know you are, somewhere. that must be agonising, or as agonising as she can feel.
