I Was-a Too Late - The Comic

As some of you already know, I'm starting my first longer comic.

It's based on my Mario fanart I Was-a Too Late that I posted in July. Let's say it also works as the comic's cover art.

Since this is going to be more of a long term fan project, let me just give you a quick heads up that the updates will likely be irregular and mostly slow. But I do want to finish this at some point in my lifetime, so let's say that I'll do my best to post at least one page a month. Hopefully I can stick to this plan, but we'll see ;)

Now for the TW/CW for those who need them: character deaths (including major), blood and some gore, violence (graphic depictions included, especially for Mario standards), and some heavy psychological stuff related to the aforementioned themes. I'll be putting specific warnings in the tags accordingly.

As an update to the situation, I have reached out to her via Instagram among with some of our mutuals and I just want to assure you all that she is doing okay for now. She’s going through a lot of personal stuff and just needs time to process everything. Therefore she’s not ready to respond to you all just yet. Let’s give her some time and space so that she can focus looking after herself and let’s be kind to her when she comes back.

Announcement

Just a quick post to let all of my comic's readers know that page 3 is being made, but please don't be surprised if I can't bring myself to finish it for a while. I'm still determined to sooner or later finish what I started, even though it's going to be a pretty long comic.

Not only am I busy these days - and spending more time than usual gaming as I've been absolutely hooked on Mario & Luigi: Brothership - but I'm also pretty darn upset right now and there's no telling how I'll feel later this week or month or however long it takes for me to get over the thing that made me feel this way.

Long story short, I think I'm too stupid and immature for this site. Because even though I technically know better, I still get attached to people. I need to process some stuff. My DMs are still open if anyone wants to talk, but don't expect me to be very fun to talk to for a while, or very active in general. How long is a while? Wish I knew. Sorry.

❤️ Where is my brother? 💚

⚠ BROTHERSHIP SPOILERS ⚠

This is basically a narration of the intro scene of the game, so as you can imagine, this story is spoilery for those who haven't started playing the game yet. Beware! ⚠

This might be a simple story, but the intro scene really spoke to me. Ever since I saw the first trailers, and especially, after seeing the looks the brothers exchange when Luigi saves Mario, I knew that I had to write something related to it. Just, those expressions resonated deep within.

So... here's the result! As a way to celebrate that Brothership came out a week ago today, I thought it'd be the best moment to post it. Since there are spoilers here, I won't be tagging anyone, but I sincerely hope whoever reads this story will enjoy it 🥰 And of course, likes, kudos, comments and reblogs are always more than welcome! 💖

Oh gosh yes!! I'm honestly so hooked on this game right now that part of me already craves fanfics and other fanworks about it, while another part tries to avoid spoilers... so this is perfect, seeing how it's based on the intro AND how it's by you. 100% the intro was amazing and I can understand how it inspired you ^^ Actually I haven't been very active on Tumblr these days for the very same reason as you (well, that and I just haven't been getting many notifs as of late). Good thing I'm subscribed to your AO3 profile though, so I'm always notified about your stories via email😊 Otherwise I wouldn't have found this story so soon.

Obviously I already know it's going to be another banger by you so I can share it on here blind, but I'll be sure to also share my thoughts on AO3 once I actually read it (which is asap lol).

Omg!!! These two cakes are beautiful!!! Sun and moon together!!! Makes me think of Mario and Luigi’s sun and moon dog tags fitting together like in my recent headcanon post (I still can’t get out your kind support and love for it. Thank you, my dears)

It does remind me of that sweet headcanon! Imagine Peach baking a cake that looks like this for the two of them after they rescue her together. Or for their birthday.
