S1 E4 of TOWL “What we” was EVERYTHING I wanted “Dick & Carol & Ted & Kory” to be. Just an angsty episode dedicated to two people in love who really needed a time out amidst the chaos.
No side stories. Dialogue heavy. Physical, mental, and spiritual intimacy.

But once again, this moment is heartbreaking. Dick just watched Kory supernova, and in effect die. He's breathing heavy and he can't look away from the sky.
Tim, Conner and Rachel try to offer some kind of support and comfort but they all know it'll never be enough.
And when everyone starts to walk away, accepting what's just happened, Dick still can't look away. Idk if anyone else noticed this, but Dick doesn't blink once during this part of the scene. It's as if he can't bring himself to do so just in case he misses any possible indication of Kory still being there. Any glimmer of hope that he didn't just lose the love of his life.
But after some time passes and Gar says his name, that's when reality finally starts to set in. He looks around like he's trying to figure out what to do next.
And I've never seen Dick look so lost in this entire series. The only other times I can think of him looking as devastated as this are also moments when he thinks he's lost Kory. First, in Trigon's nightmare and then when he thinks she's leaving after he confessed about Jericho.
Which all just cements the fact that Kory is the most important person to Dick (and, yes, just her). Throughout the season I don't think he ever mentioned his goal was to save the world/universe specifically. All he cared about was Kory's well being and making sure he saved her.
She's his person. His light. And losing her means losing everything 💙💜

This man really got himself thrown in jail at the thought of Kory leaving him & going back to Tamaran. We’ve always known but him voicing it makes the icing on the cake that much sweeter; IT’S ALWAYS BEEN KORY! Their ‘I love yous’ is going to DESTROY ME.
Time to tell her Grayson, you can do it.
Dick telling Kory to record only painful memories to help them remember, but they both made sure to add in the moment they knew they loved each other

They didn't add any blood to Dick's drawing specifically because Brother Blood and Trigon coming back aren't what kills him. It's losing Kory. The pain from her death would literally break him and make him lose any sort of motivation to keep fighting. No wonder he looks so sad.
She's his light and his strength. Losing her means losing everything. So he's gonna do everything he can to save her 🥺😫😭

Summary: Because if you had asked her this morning if she would have thought she would end up in bed with both Dick and Ted, she would have asked who the hell was Ted and then laughed at your face for suggesting she would wind up with Dick in bed again because they were still currently fighting and there was not a single sexy feeling in her body for him.
