hot manhunt take
i know i'm being a debbie downer to manhunt enjoyers and i am genuinely happy to see people enjoy a historical show but when i hear manhunt talk i get itchy to express a main thought and i'm gonna let it out.... it was just so factually inaccurate. not a matter of historical disagreement or interpretation, just complete fabrication with 0 basis in the book it's adapted from, or anywhere else. i'll admit i'm a rare perfect 1 on the nonfiction-fiction kinsey scale, it's not for me. but i just couldn't take it... like 75% of the plot completely never happened in real life. i mean it's like our flag means death or something. and i'm frustrated that many viewers won't know this and may assume it's all true. again it was greatly made... but i just hope the average viewer knows it's fiction. it's a fictional show based on some true events. because if not a bunch of people are now totally misinformed about a major historical event and that sets off billions of explosions in my fragile brain potentially killing me. also edwin stanton was ugly af and they'll never keep me from saying the truth
