I hope they explain why Tina’s so attached to the dysfunction of the restaurant. It’s one thing to think “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” and in her eyes I think that just means they still get business.

It’s another thing to be seemingly incapable of recognizing a good idea. ANY good idea, whether it’s coming from Carm or Sydney. And I notice she used to act like a boulder whenever Carm suggested something, but the moment Sydney is in an authoritative position, it’s suddenly, “Not my Jeff.”

I love the final scene between Sydney and Carm. She came here hoping to stand out, but did not want to lead these hostile people in any way, lmao. I love that she was a little intimidated while telling Carm that he didn’t listen to her and that he abandoned her, but she pushed through the intimidation to stand up for herself. Love that. And she let him know that she has a personal goal here. She’s not just here because of nostalgia for the restaurant and a professional admiration for him.

I’m on episode two of The Bear, and if it turns out Mike killed himself because of the restaurant, I’ll believe it 1,000 percent. I doubt the restaurant will be the reason, but I’d believe it. $300,000 in debt?! The way Carm’s face looked when dude told him that, I wouldn’t be surprised if his own thoughts started going down that road. Two episodes in, and this man has five years’ worth of problems with this restaurant.
