tpm au where qui-gon and obi-wan capture maul & he’s forcibly inducted into the jedi order through some dogmatic loophole or another. they’re like look, we technically can’t arrest you for anything, just try to tolerate this rehabilitation program that was some jedi’s idea a millennium ago and hasn’t been used since
maul bides his time bc this is the inside job he didn’t know he needed, but it’s like how if you handle a snake enough they’ll eventually stop biting you. by the time of the clone wars he’s just there, doing hot girl shit
i’d like to specify he’s not a jedi and whenever they let him off-planet he still causes problems on purpose, but they’re not sith-adjacent problems, and he always manages to stay just barely within the terms of the jedi code. it’s become a game to him at this point. qui-gon, who initially introduced him to the “i’m not touching you” model of being a jedi. has looked at more than one maul-shaped hole in a wall and been like yeah this is partly on me. maul and obi-wan aren’t quite friends but maul definitely knows that obi-wan and satine are banging
