hmmmm I haven’t really thought about it too much.

Well I think Cosette and Marius have their kids the traditional way. they’d have three kids, two girls and a boy.

Feuilly has one child, just because ae doesn't want to have a relationship but still wants to be a parent, so ae probably sperm donor’d and did ar thing.

Combeferre would adopt because he was adopted and he would want to be able to help a child like his mothers helped him.

Bossuet Chetta and Joly adopted, def. they probably met the surrogate mother and kept tabs as the baby grew and left the adoption open so the surrogate could know how the baby is doing

I have this near-and-dear hc that Courfeyrac has a lot of little illegitimate babies from his free-wheelin escapades that he absolutely adores them all and does everything and anything for them. He can’t be there all the time, but he makes damn sure that they’re all taken care of and loved he just loves all his children so much

Grantaire I feel would be that one guy who finds a baby in a dumpster and decides to raise it as his own.

Eponine would not have kids, looking after Gavroche is plenty. DEFINITELY no kids for Montparnasse goodness no.

Bahorel and Jehan would one day want children, both being from large families, but are content for the time being to wait

Then there’s like Valjean and Fantine who are already parents and Javert is in this weird parent-no-parent limbo where he’s technically a father-figure to Cosette and the surrogate father to Jean-Claude soooo

here is my h/c on this

Everything would still more or less happen

I mean there would be obvious p major tweaks but essentially he tells them not to be anywhere near the revolutionaries and stay home so he assumes they would obey him and are not there when he infiltrates and they sort of… Miss each other? Like Eponine is dressed like a man so he wouldn’t really notice her unless he was seeking her out and Gavroche is doing his sneak-around-grab-stuff thing so it’s like a tragic little bit of “If-you-turned-your-head-juuust-so-You-Would-Have-Noticed”. Very shoulda-coulda-woulda. (This would also of course mean Gavroche is not the one to out Javert and that’s a p big plot hole that Idk how to change but let’s assume someone else did it yeah)  and since he doesn’t expect them to be there when Valjean freed Javert, Javert would not be looking for them and by that time Eponine is already dead. When he goes home and neither are there he tries not to worry because both of them like to sneak out sometimes and stay out late from when they were homeless even though it does not sit right with him. 

So the morning after when he comes back to the barricade and see their bodies he feels his blood run cold and the breath leave his lungs and he doesn’t believe it for a moment… no, they were told not to be here, they wouldn’t disobey…  and he can’t even mourn for them, can’t kneel and hold his children and weep because he is on duty and so he swallows down the anguish, the pain that’s ripping at his stomach and chest, turns his heart to stone like he does and reassures himself that later, later he will mourn.

Then he confronts Valjean in the sewer and Later doesn’t come.
