Disabled friends and tumblrites all: do your best to stay alive. The fight will be very hard for some of us, if certain plans go into action and our cost of living goes up while benefits go down, but we have to try.

We’ll crawl up the Capitol steps again if we have to. But we have to stay alive to make it there.

Non-disabled friends and tumblrites all: check on your disabled friends in the coming months. Keep an ear to the ground for news about changes to Medicaid, Medicare, SSI, SSDI, Food Stamps, the ADA, the ACA, “pre-existing conditions” 🤢, and discrimination protections. Ask them how you can help when you learn of new problems they are facing, especially systemic ones. Offer to help them figure out how to start applying for more aid or benefits, or what other resources are available in your area. Make sure they’re eating and getting to their appointments when you can. Contribute to mutual aid funds when you can.

So the spam blogs are back to being just empty blogs with weird urls and nothing else (no weird bios or stolen thirst-trap photos). So if you’re newer to Tumblr, and about to hit follow on my blog, but your blog has literally nothing on it? Don’t follow me yet. Go edit your blog’s theme/appearance and at the very least have a bio or blog title so other users on this site can tell you’re not a spam bot.

Then come back and follow me. If you follow me first, and your blog has no posts, and the likes public but no likes, and the follows public but (again) no posts? I’m going to end up reporting you as spam and blocking you on the assumption you’re a bot.
