For Frodo the Halfling, it is said, at the bidding of Mithrandir took on himself the burden, and alone with his servant he passed through peril and darkness and came at last in Sauron's despite even to Mount Doom; and there into the Fire where it was wrought he cast the Great Ring of Power, and so at last it was unmade and its evil consumed.

Aragorn went first to Faramir, and then to the Lady Éowyn, and last to Merry. When he had looked on the faces of the sick and seen their hurts he sighed. 'Here I must put forth all such power and skill as is given to me,' he said. 'Would that Elrond were here, for he is the eldest of all our race, and has the greater power.'

Then suddenly he beheld his sister Éowyn as she lay, and he knew her. He stood a moment as a man who is pierced in the midst of a cry by an arrow through the heart; and then his face went deathly white, and a cold fury rose in him,so that all speech failed him for a while. A fey mood took him. 'Éowyn, Éowyn!' he cried at last. 'Éowyn, how come you here? What madness or devilry is this? Death, death, death! Death take us all!'

I think there are massive unhealed wounds with his father. His parents saved the world, and his brother created a country so it's a lot to live up to. He left in the middle of a war and everything changed once he disappeared, so he still hasn't really reconciled with it. That was a really fun scene to work on because it's one of those moments where me and Owain are battling the same thing in very different ways – which is one of the things that I really like about his relationship with Durin. Ultimately, they can be dealing with the same issue but obviously one is an elf that will live forever, and one is a mortal dwarf, and they experience emotion in different ways. (x)

You’ve left out one of the chief characters: Samwise the Brave. I want to hear more about Sam. Frodo wouldn’t have got far without Sam. Now Mr. Frodo, you shouldn’t make fun. I was being serious. So was I.
