If you have the ruler of your midheaven in one of the financial houses, you have the potential to earn a significant amount of money from your career. The financial houses are the 2nd, 8th, and 11th houses.

A Venus ruled Midheaven.

Leo in our charts is where we tend to “shine” so a Leo midheaven or a Leo degree over the midheaven.

People with Saturn in the 10th/Saturn conjunct the Midheaven often go on to achieve quite a lot of career success. However, this success may be delayed (at an older age) or these people have to work exceptionally hard to attain this success. Nevertheless, individual’s with a Saturn influenced midheaven tend to be very hard-working!

Ruler of Midheaven in the 10th house can indicate that you may work in a traditionally prestigious/ well-respected career (medical professionals, lawyers, and scientists are examples). People with this placement also tend to do well in business!

Aries placements/Aries Midheavens or those with a Martian influence over their midheavens tend to be very ambitious. Thus, career success is likely. However, Mars is the lesser Malefic, meaning that one may need to overcome obstacles/assert themselves effectively in order to move ahead in their career.

When you have the ruler of the Solar Return Ascendant in the 4th house, you may find yourself spending a lot of time at home or with family. This is also likely to be true when your Solar Return Ascendant is in the same sign as your natal 4th house cusp!

In terms of romance, it is not uncommon to begin dating someone new when the Solar Return Sun is in the 5th house or when your Solar Return Ascendant is in Libra. However, i would assert that you’d need more than one indication such as Venus in the 5th or 7th house of the SR chart, or the Solar Return Ascendant in the same sign as the natal 5th or 7th house cusps! Lastly, when the Ruler of the Solar Return Ascendant is in the 7th or 5th house, romance or partnerships can be key themes that year.

Chiron or Neptune in the Solar Return 2nd house can indicate certain financial difficulties. However, this is only likely to be true if these planets receive squares and oppositions from the other planets in the chart. If these planets receive sextiles/trines it just may mean that you will heal your relationship with money that year or your self-worth. The 2nd house shows us how we *spend* money, so when Neptune or Chiron are in the Solar Return 2nd house, you may choose to spend money on things that involve healing or spirituality etc..

Uranus in the 4th house of the Solar Return Chart can indicate that you may have to do some unexpected repairs to a home or you may move homes unexpectedly that year.

If you are in a relationship, Neptune or Chiron (sometimes Saturn) conjunct the Solar Return Descendent can indicate that you may experience a break up that year. However, as I have said before, the aspects made to Chiron or Neptune will tell you more about how this will play out for you personally. For example, if Venus is making a square to Neptune in the 7th house of the SR chart, you may have to break up with your partner for reasons that are related to your living situation (it may be long-distance) or family (maybe your family does not approve etc..)

When the Solar Return Sun or Moon are in the 12th house, it’s not uncommon to become really interested in spirituality. If these planets are afflicted, you may feel very lonely or isolated throughout the year.

When your Solar Return Sun is in the 2nd house attaining a sense of stability & security (emotional, financial, & physical) will be very important.

Jupiter in the Solar Return 9th house is incredibly auspicious, If you’re looking to publish a book/article/important body of work!

Chiron in the Solar Return 10th or 6th house can often manifest as the loss of a job. Alternatively, when you have Chiron in the 10th house in the Solar Return chart, this can be a somewhat difficult year in your fathers life or a significant paternal figures life.

When you have the Ruler of your Solar Return IC in the 9th house, that may be the year you move abroad. Interestingly, I have also found this to be true when Jupiter is in the Solar Return 4th house! In terms of pregnancy, I would look to see if your Solar Return has a 4th or 5th house emphasis. For example, you may become pregnant when you have Jupiter or the Moon in your Solar Return 5th house. You may also become pregnant when your solar return rising sign is in the same sign as your natal 5th house cusp! Jupiter in the Solar Return 4th house can also indicate a new addition to the family. Lastly, Uranus in the solar return 5th house can indicate an unexpected pregnancy.

Jupiter in the 2nd, 8th, or 11th house.

People with the ruler of their midheaven in the 2nd, 8th, or 11th tend to earn a substantial amount of money from their careers.

Venus or Jupiter in the 8th can indicate marrying a wealthy spouse.

People with Uranus, Jupiter AND Venus in the 5th house are more likely to win money from games of chance such as the lottery. Please note you have to have at least two of these for it to apply to you.

Some people argue Venus-Pluto contacts (trine,sextile, & conjunction) specifically can indicate wealth. However, I’d argue that you’d want to see if the conjunction is happening in one of the ‘money houses’. Pluto is also the planet of extremes so this aspect is truly one where you’d need to look at other aspects & the chart in its entirety to see how it will unfold.

North Node in the 2nd, 8th, or 11th house.

Jupiter/Venus ruled 2nd, 8th, or 11th house cusp. (Sagittarius, Pisces, Libra, or Taurus) over these houses.

People with 8th house placements (especially Venus or Jupiter) are more likely to receive an inheritance, marry a wealthy spouse, or make money through investing/trading.

People with 11th house placements (Venus,Jupiter) have the potential to earn a significant amount of money from their careers.

Planets in a natal chart that are at the 29th degree *in Cancer* are considered to be financially auspicious as that is the millionaire degree. I want to emphasize that the 29th degree is a Leo degree, but what I’m referring to is planets that are in the sign of cancer that are at the 29th degree. I hope this makes sense.

Long-term transits to the 2nd house can indicate a change in your finances. However, I have found this to be especially true if for example Jupiter is transiting your 2nd house *AND* making a trine or conjunction to your natal Venus.

Uranus transits to the 2nd house can indicate an unexpected change in your finances. However, you want to look to see how it’s aspected to see if this change is likely to be positive or negative. If Uranus in the 2nd is making a square to Venus that can indicate a sudden loss of wealth/money.

On the topic of Uranus, when transit Uranus makes transits your 5th house your chances of winning at a game of chance are higher. But, this is only true if transit Jupiter is also transiting the 5th house or if you have your natal Venus, Jupiter, or part of fortune in the 5th .

The best transits for money are Jupiter/Venus transiting the 2nd house OR Transit Venus/Jupiter making a conjunction, trine or sextile to your natal Venus/Jupiter. You also want to look out for transit Venus or Jupiter making an aspect to planets in the 2nd, 8th, or 11th houses. Squares & oppositions can indicate difficulties or losses connected to money. So, sextiles, trines, and sometimes conjunctions are preferred.

Transits of the benefics to the ruler of your 2nd house can also represent a financially auspicious time.

Jupiter in solar return 2nd house can often indicate an increase in wealth that year. This is especially true if Jupiter is making a trine or a conjunction to the Solar Return Venus.

Ruler of the Solar Return Ascendant in the 2nd house, can indicate that you will have a very financially focused year. That is also true if the sign that is over your Solar Return Ascendant is the same sign that is over your natal 2nd house cusp.

I have also seen Pluto in the 2nd house of a Solar Return chart indicate a significant change in an individual’s personal finances/resources. However, we would need to see how it’s being aspected to determine how it would play out for you as an individual. Trines & sextiles (and sometimes conjunctions) are preferred.

Solar return part of fortune in the 2nd house tends to be auspicious for finances.

Solar return Jupiter making a trine to the Midheaven. However, this is most likely to be true if Jupiter is trining your midheaven from the solar return 2nd house.

Ruler of Ascendant in the 9th house. This is one of the most common indications I see in a natal chart of someone who has relocated abroad.

Ruler or Ascendant in the 12th house.

9th house stellium! This is especially true if this stellium includes the Sun & Mercury.

Ruler of 4th house in the 9th house.

Ruler of 4th house in the 12th house. It is important to remember that the 12th house governs over “faraway lands” in Astrology. Thus, it is common to see people with this placement settle in a country that is not their home country.

12th house Stellium! (12th house Suns, Mercury, and Jupiter especially).

North Node in the 9th or 12th house.

Jupiter in the 9th or 12th house.

Part of fortune in the 9th or 12th house.

As a side note; people who have the ruler of their 9th in the 9th or the 12th may choose to study abroad!

Another side note is that people who have the ruler of their Midheaven in the 9th or 12th may be required to travel to different countries for work. This can also be true for Jupiter or Neptune conjunct the MC.

People with the ruler of their descendent in the 9th or a 9th house Venus may end up relocating abroad to be with a romantic partner. The same can be said for those with the ruler of their descendent in the 12th, or a 12H Venus.

In one of my older posts I remember saying that couples who have their Composite Mars making a conjunction to their Composite Ascendant can come across as being quarrelsome, as their arguments are often made public. However, I have also found that couples who have Mars conjunct the Composite Midheaven, can also come across as being argumentative ( with each other and with other people). This is most likely because Mars conjuncting the MC would in most cases square the Composite Ascendant.

People with Jupiter in the 8th or Part of Fortune in the 8th house in their natal chart can often find success when trading or investing!

When your Solar Return Mercury makes a conjunction to the Solar Return Midheaven, you may have to travel for work. I have also found this to be true when you have the ruler of the solar return midheaven placed in the 9th house. I want to emphasize that placements can play out many different ways this is just one of the ways I have seen these two placements manifest.

An afflicted Saturn in the 3rd house of a composite chart can often indicate communication problems within a relationship. There can be verbal misunderstandings, silent treatments, or just differences in communication styles as a result of this placement. However, it is always important to remember that a single placement cannot derail an entire relationship, you will need to look at the composite and Synastry charts.

A Solar Return year in which you have the ruler of your Solar Return 4th house in the 9th, can be the year where you move or relocate abroad.

In synastry, when your North Node makes a conjunction to someone else’s Midheaven vise versa you two have the potential to impact each other’s career trajectories quite significantly. I have actually found that it is often the Midheaven person who introduces the North Node person to people who have the ability to advance them on their career path.

People who have planets that make a conjunction to your Sun/Moon midpoint are likely to have a significant impact on you (especially if the orb is exact). For example, if someone’s Moon makes a conjunction to your sun/moon midpoint you can feel a strong emotional pull towards them vise versa.

Individuals with their natal Venus, Mars, or descendent in Sagittarius can often find themselves in long distance relationships or in relationships with people who are very different to them. There can be a difference in religion, race, nationality, political beliefs etc…

Something I find so interesting is that I personally know someone who met their spouse in the time frame (+- 2 months) that they had their Solar arc Venus making an exact conjunction to their natal descendent! I am thinking of making a separate post about Solar Arcs for those interested to know how to interpret them and what they are!

If you have Uranus in your natal 6th house, you are best suited to work environments that provide you with a lot of freedom and autonomy. Interestingly, people with Uranus in the 6th house, are also more likely to own exotic pets.

Chiron in the natal 3rd house can manifest as having a speech impediment, attention difficulties, or problems in early education. It can also indicate a difficult relationship with a sibling or siblings. In some instances, a 3rd house Chiron can indicate a fear of driving or some kind of ‘wounding’ surrounding cars and short-distance traveling,

Something so interesting I’ve observed with Neptune conjunct the composite Ascendant is that the couple tend to be very forgiving of one another. However, there can be the inclination to engage in excessive drinking, gambling, or drug use together (if there are no mitigating factors).

It is not uncommon to begin dating someone new when your solar return Sun & Venus are in the Solar Return 5th house. Ideally, you want to have both to increase the chances. You want to look at the 7th house for a more long-term connection. However, it is possible for a relationship that begins in a 5th house centered solar return year to progress if there are aspects made to Saturn!

A “9th house heavy” solar return almost always indicates that a significant form of study or trip will present itself during that year. Some people may decide to enroll in college for the first time or others may even return to college in such a year. Alternatively, this could be a year in which your religious, political, or philosophical beliefs are highlighted.

It’s not uncommon to see individuals who have their Midheaven in Virgo, or the ruler of their Midheaven in the 6th house end up working in the health & wellness industries. These people can be drawn to personal training, nutrition or the healthcare industry.

If you have the ruler of your 7th house in the 9th. You may find that you have the tendency to attract long distance relationships or foreign partners.

Chiron or Neptune transiting the 6th or 10th houses are two planets I often see activated when a person is having trouble in their vocational sphere. Job losses or disillusionment pertaining to one’s career can often emerge during these transits.

Secondary Progressions are such an underrated predictive technique! You want to look out for when your progressed planets change signs, when the progressed moon enters a new house, or when there’s a progressed new or full moon! This is because these all often coincide with significant life events, this is especially true when it comes to the occurrence of a progressed new moon!

In synastry, when someone’s Mars falls into your 10th house they can motivate you to achieve your career goals and ambitions. However, if Mars is harshly aspected, this person can have a negative impact on your reputation, career, and the pursuit of your worldly ambitions.

You can expect to see a significant amount of advancement or abundance in your career in a year where your solar return Saturn or Jupiter trines the solar return midheaven!

Interestingly, you may experience sudden weight gain or weight loss when your Solar Return Uranus makes a conjunction to your Solar Return Ascendant! Alternatively, this could just mean that you decide to make an unexpected change to your physical appearance! This can be getting a new hairstyle or changing your wardrobe!

If you have your part of fortune in the 3rd or the 11th house you may find success with an online blog, sales, or anything involving the use of technology & social media!

Those with the ruler of their Midheaven in the 4th or part of fortune in the 4th can be drawn to real estate. This placement (ruler of midheaven in the 4th) can also indicate working from home or working in a family business.

Neptune conjunct the descendent is common to see in the charts of people who get married more than once in their lifetime!

If you have the ruler of your 9th house in the 9th, you may decide to pursue higher education/college abroad!

It’s common to move homes if you have your solar return Saturn, Uranus or Moon conjunct the IC in the solar return chart.

When your Solar Return Sun is in your 6th house you may begin a new exercise regimen or start to take your health very seriously this year. Weight loss is often accompanied by this placement. (Unless you have your Solar Return Jupiter conjunct the Ascendant or 6th house cusp)

If your Solar Return Midheaven is in the same sign as your Natal Midheaven. Something significant is likely to happen in relation to your career, worldly status or your reputation. You may reach a new career height (major promotion)or perhaps you go from being engaged to married etc…

When your Solar Return Jupiter is in your Solar Return 2nd house, you are likely going to make more money this year. Please note, that the change is not always this extreme change in finances (that’s Pluto). It’s most often a subtle increase in finances.

When your Solar Return Midheaven is in Leo, you will often become more well known in your career field. Alternatively, something significant may occur in your life that becomes public knowledge with this placement.

If your Solar Return Jupiter is in your 3rd house, and you own your own business, you will likely see an increase in sales unless Jupiter is afflicted.

If Your Solar Return Venus is conjunct you Solar Return Sun in the 8th house of your Solar Return chart. You will likely see an increase in your finances or your sexual experiences.

The year in which your Solar Return sun is in your 12th house, is likely the year in which you will become very interested in astrology, spiritually etc.. This can also be a year in which you become more introspective and reclusive.

When you have your Solar Return Venus or Sun in the 5th house, you may begin casually dating this year or going out more/investing in your hobbies.

When your Solar Return Sun is in your 3rd house, you may find that your day to day life becomes very busy. You may feel as if you are always “on the go” during this solar return year. This is also a good time to enroll in a short course, start a blog, or work on growing your social media. (Venus or Jupiter here will also increase this effect)

The year you have your solar return Neptune making a conjunction to your Solar Return Midheaven, may be a year in which you feel lost, in terms of your career or life’s direction. Alternatively, this may be a year in which you pursue a career in the arts or anything related to spirituality or healing.

When your Solar Return Neptune is in your 1st house or making a conjunction to your Ascendant, you may find yourself taking more pictures of yourself that year.

An 11th house stellium in your Solar Return will likely be a year in which you work really hard towards achieving your goals. You are likely to be reaping the benefits for all your hard work (career-related) . This is especially true if you have a benefic (Jupiter or Venus) in your Solar Return 2nd house.

The year in which you have Chiron in the 9th house in your solar return, may be the year in which you drop out of college. Alternatively, something significant (painful or healing) may happen to you in relation to your religious or philosophical beliefs that year.

People with Pisces on the 2nd house cusp are usually very generous with money & their resources. However, at times it can be difficult for them to save, and it’s as if their money literally disappears as fast as it comes in. Remember Neptune dissolves. However, this doesn’t mean every person with a Pisces 2nd house will be spendthrift, it could also just mean that you enjoy spending your money on things that are related to spirituality, art, and the occult.

This is more of a personal anecdote. BUT, my cousin and I who grew up together, are very similar astrologically. We share the same sun & mercury sign, and our risings & moon signs are compatible. However, it seems that when we fight, we go LOW, and we tend to stay angry at each other for prolonged periods of time. I decided to take a look into our synastry, and two things stood out. The first is that my mars is EXACTLY conjunct her ascendant (meaning the orb is less than 1 degrees), and the tightest aspect in our composite chart is mercury conjunct mars. I literally had an “aha” moment. There are very few people who can truly get under my skin, but she is one of them. So, perhaps my mars closely conjuncting her ascendant can account for that. We also tend to exchange very harsh words impulsively, this can be explained by our mercury conjunct mars in the composite. (Remember composite charts will show you the main themes of a relationship as a unit) I obviously love her and always will, we are family after all. But I thought I’d give some insight into family synastry, as it’s not something that is frequently discussed on here.

Since you all seemed to appreciate the little snippet I put in my last post about what you are likely going to study in college based on the sign on your 9th house cusp I thought I’d do a few more.

• Libra on the 9th: political science, law, fashion/fashion design, studying to be an esthetician, studying to become a marriage/couple counselor.
• Scorpio on the 9th: medicine, psychology, criminology, forensics, anything related to the healing professions.
• Gemini on the 9th: journalism, communications, writing.
• Leo on the 9th: theatre/acting, creative arts, studying anything that puts you in the public eye. Alternatively, studying something that involves working with children in some way. Interestingly, Leo on the 9th can suggest that you will attend a very well-known/prestigious college.

Virgo Risings are such interesting people to me. This is because they usually have every aspect of their lives together EXCEPT their romantic lives (Pisces 7H). These individuals are prone to attracting people who need a significant amount of emotional, and sometimes physical support. I will say, Virgo risings are some of the most selfless and service-oriented people there are. These people often associate love with an element of sacrifice. Please note that if there are any planets in the 7th house of a Virgo risings chart, this may affect my description. Let’s say someone who has a Virgo rising, has Chiron in the 7th. Instead of attracting ‘broken people’, they may feel wounded by love, or subconsciously be seeking a love that is healing.

A composite chart that has its North Node in the 4th house can suggest that the destiny of your relationship (if it’s a romantic one) is to build a solid and secure home together. It could also assert that you two were brought into each other’s lives to provide each other with a significant level of emotional support & emotional healing.

Uranus in your solar return chart will show you the area of life in which you will experience the most ‘shock’ and unpredictability for the next year. Expect the unexpected in that area of life.

Saturn in your solar return chart will show you the are of life in which you will have to be the most disciplined. It will also show you where you will have to work very hard, and at times you may feel a bit restricted in this area of life.

Pluto in your solar return chart will show you where you will experience the most transformation. On occasion, it can show you where you will experience the most ‘extremes’. For example, a well aspected Pluto in the 2nd house of a Solar return can show major changes in your financial situation. You may receive a large amount of money that year through work or any personal endeavor.

Jupiter in your solar return chart can show you where you will experience the most expansion. I know Jupiter is the planet is luck & abundance, but I would say the word expansion is more appropriate as not everyone will assert that they felt ‘lucky’ in this area of life, during that year . If Jupiter is making trines, or sextiles to your Venus, Moon, Sun, Ascendant or Mars, you may very well feel very ‘ lucky’ in that year.

If you would like to see what sort of energy a specific place in the world will have for you, then Astrocartography is your best bet. You can pull it up on Astro.com. However, I’ve found that creating a relocation chart can help give you information about how YOU will behave in that location, and how other people will perceive you, Whereas, when you are looking up your astrocartography lines in certain areas of the world, I feel as if that represent external influences that will shape your experiences in that area of the world. I personally went abroad for college (haha I’m giving a little bit of information about myself in this post) I went to a country that’s very very far from my home country, and when I pulled up my relocation chart, I was quite shocked at the accuracy. I recommend looking at BOTH the relocation chart, and the lines that run through that area of the world for you, to make an accurate assessment.

An afflicted Neptune in the 11th house of a Solar Return can indicate friendship troubles in the year. It’s not uncommon to lose friends or lose a friend in such a year.

Solar Return Moon in the 12th house can be a very emotionally difficult year (especially if the moon receives many squares from the other planets). However, I find that most people become interested in Astrology or spirituality when their Solar Return Sun, Moon, or Mercury is in the Solar return 12th house.

It’s common to begin therapy when you have your Solar Return Mercury in the 8th house. I had a client of mine begin DBT sessions when she had her Solar Return Mercury in her 8th house (she gave me permission to share this information for anyone who may be concerned).

When your Solar Return Sun makes a conjunction to Venus, this can be a very social year for you. Especially if this conjunction occurs in the 3rd, 5th, or 11th houses.

There’s the inclination to attract unfulfilling romantic unions or relationships that are hard to make work when you have your Solar Return Venus opposite the Solar Return Saturn. If you are already in a relationship, you may find that certain responsibilities and obligations are pulling you in the opposite direction of that relationship. Thus, a lot of compromise and conscious effort on your part is required during that solar return year. Some astrologers argue that Venus opposite Saturn can indicate a break up, but I’ve honestly seen that more with Venus square Saturn or Venus square Uranus in the Solar Return chart.

My personal finances changes drastically (for the better) when I had my Solar Return Pluto in the 2nd house. However, I must say I had my Solar Return Venus in the 8th and Jupiter In the 11th too. Furthermore, my solar return Ascendant was the sign over my natal 2nd house cusp. Hence, finances were a major theme for me this particular year.

When the ruler of your solar return midheaven is in the 9th. You may be required to travel for work. It can also mean that your work may involve some form of learning or exposure to certain things that expand your worldviews.

In terms of your mental state during the year, I would actually look at the condition of your 3rd house (and Mercury) first and foremost. Then the 12th, and then the 8th. If you have Saturn in the 3rd house feelings of depression or despondency can often emerge. This is especially true if Saturn receives many squares. Uranus in the 3rd can cause feelings of restlessness and in some cases anxiety. If you want to look at your emotional state I would look to the condition of the Moon, 4th, and 12th house.

A solar return year where you have Venus conjunct Mars can be a year in which you experience an increase in your sex drive and general appeal. You’ll be radiating an aura that other people find hard to ignore. Attracting more sexual or romantic partners is also a possibility in such a year. (Whether these are long-term partners need to be determined by looking at the overall condition of Venus and the solar return 7th house) you also need to take note of your transits and to a lesser extent to progressions.

When your Solar Return Ascendant is in the same sign as your Natal Ascendant this can be a significant year for you, when it comes to your physical appearance and your personality. People often see you in a “different light” in such a year. You may be making the conscious effort to change your look or how you present yourself to others. Even if this change is not blatant, people will often notice a difference in your appearance and your outward persona/mannerisms.
