Caption: "Several Santa Fe locomotives rest at Corwith Yard southwest of downtown Chicago on August 30, 1986. Left to right is freshly-repainted EMD SD45-2 No. 5830, the 100-story John Hancock Center, four EMD Geeps led by GP7u No. 2013 and finally, the 108-story Sears Tower. Note the tracks are literally 'blue flagged'.”

Caption: “Back in 1991, Superfleet power dominated railfan interest as Santa Fe added a touch of class to their freight operations. GP60M shows off its flamboyant color scheme while waiting for servicing at Corwith Yard in Chicago. A scheme made a nice contrast to the yellow and blue scheme, which also was quite attractive.”

Built in Beloit, Wisconsin in April 1948 (c/n 10L56), it is seen in the as-delivered paint scheme. It was retired May 25, 1970 and sent to Precision National during July 1971."

Caption: “The Line-up at Corwith - 1978 style. Once upon a time, you could walk into the office at Santa Fe’s Corwith yard in Chicago and sign a release. Then you walked out and found the FantasyLand of locomotives. You could do this with no hassle. As long as you behaved, nobody bothered you. And the SD45’s and others welcomed the attention…”
