A Little Trip
Summary: Sam doesn’t sleep well.
Pairing: Sam x Reader, Dean
The Winchester men were all tall, extremely huge. Ever since you started dating Sam, the first time he brought you to the bunker, you couldn’t help but think of how small his bed was. You knew that in the few years the boys had discovered the bunker, the brothers never once thought about changing their beds. You figured that if they were happy with it, it wasn’t your place to say anything.
You started sleeping over more, and more became almost every day until you moved in with the brothers. You noticed that Sam was getting up earlier than normal, that he was more tired than usual and a bit short tempered.
Sam was usually the sweetest and nicest human being you knew. He had a temper for sure, but he was always nice and sweet to everyone.
It was a surprise to everyone when he snapped at Dean the first time. It was about something really small, something about him not washing his dishes and being inconsiderate to the other people around him.
Then he snapped at one of the few hunters that still lived in the bunker about not caring about other people’s lives simply because he was asking a question.
His irritation with people got worse in a matter of a few days and that's when you confronted him about it.
“What is wrong with you? You’ve been acting so mean the last few days!”
He shrugged and didn't answer the question.
“Come on Sam, you know you can tell me anything!!”
After a few minutes of silence, Sam sighed and decided to tell you the truth.
“I can’t sleep or if I do sleep, I don’t sleep well; I wake up with a backache. There’s barely any place in the bed for the two of us, and frankly, I don’t know how you sleep so well at night because this mattress is shit. I’m almost 6’5 and while you’re tiny, I take up a lot of room in a bed.”
You looked at him for a moment, wondering what your answer should be.
“Okay. We can fix the problem, it’s not a big deal.”
He looked suspicious of your answer but wasn’t saying a word.
“Yeah, we’ll go to Ikea and shop for a new bed frame. We can also go shopping for a new mattress, or we can try those mattress in a box. Sam, you don’t sleep well because there isn't enough space in the bed and it’s not comfortable. We can fix the situation, it’s not a big deal. I also imagine Dean having the same problem. So we’ll go talk to your brother about having a new bed and a new mattress and then we’ll go shopping. Just… unless we have it delivered, we need a car with lots of room in it.”
