Basic summary of the news about yesterday's far-right terrorist attack so people outside Brazil are properly informed of the situation.
The culprit, Francisco Wanderley Luiz, was 59-year-old keymaker. In the most recent elections, he ran for congressman by PL (same political party as former president Jair Bolsonaro) and lost the popular vote.
A few days before the attack, he posted veiled threats on Facebook, and one very explicit message namedropping 4 public figures around Joe Biden's level of leftism, which he refers to as "the shitty commies" and telling "you icky old men have 72 hours to disarm the bomb in your houses. The game begins on November 13 17:48 and ends at the 16th" accompanied by a comical amount of bomb emojis.
After the threatening messages, the terrorist wrote the phrase "for shit statues, you use dynamite" on his house's mirror, put on a suit themed after The Joker and drove his car on a 24h10min trip from Porto Alegre to Brasilia. He arrived at the Supreme Court, made a thumbs up sign to a group of confused witnesses in a nearby bus stop, and walked toward the Supreme Court's statue.
He threw a bomb at statue, which bounced off Looney Tunes style and hit the terrorist's head, killing him instantly. No one was harmed by the terrorist attack except for the culprit.
According to acquaintances, the incident happened because the culprit was emotionally disturbed by his divorce.
Linked below is an excerpt from the culprit's TikTok, in which he uses a prophetic amount of explosion effect on his own face.

I know you're mixed, I knew before you stated it. So many latinos are mixed, myself included. What I find enraging about latinos, and specifically South Americans, is that they purposely avoid any real discussion on race. Latinos are really dumb when it comes to the racial topic but especially South Americans, South Americans are real monsters on this issue. I hear stories about Nazis escaping Germany and settling in Argentina, without issue. The natives don't feel repulsed, their neighbors aren't repulsed at their crimes. And these former Nazis can live comfortably in Argentina and start a family and even live a better life than the native Argentinans. I hear stories about Argentinan children getting some memorabilia from their grandparents who came from Germany, and it's fucking Nazi memorabilia. And they can openly pass that Nazi memorabilia because other Argentinan's don't care. No grandpa can pass down their Nazi watch to their grandkids in the US like that, in Latin America it's fine. It's the same with Brazil, you had or have a mutual who was this Japanese Brazilian. It's great that her grandpa can move to Brazil after losing the war and avoiding responsibility by moving to Brazil. Why shouldn't he? The Brazilians don't have a problem with it, it doesn't matter what he did to Korean women or to anyone deemed an enemy. He can live comfortably in Brazil and start a family and continue like nothing happened, he's just another Brazilian, except a Brazilian who is probably doing better than native Brazilians. Don Fransisco's family were Jews fleeing oppression and he ended up in Chile. I don't remember if he was born there or moved there but point is despite him having no actual hereditary origin from the people of Chile he became the face of Latin America. How does someone who has no actual origin in a place become the most popular and celebrated person of that place? It's because his white skin, this dude's family was going to be killed in Europe but that oppression turns into privilege in Latin America. Sábado Gigante was something, some white host celebrated and when they would look into the audience it was actually native American people in the audience. It was surreal.
I don't want to make this long, if I had to point out every racial hypocrisy of Latin America I'd have no time for myself.

I don't, cuz money doesn't last forever. You dont socially ascend and have the rest of the life good by going to a first world. You gonna work in jobs no one wants to work, be hated and suffer racism, and when you come back you won't be able to live the rest of your life with that money. That not how it works
Also, maybe I don't want to abandon my family to live alone in country that hates me. And also, traveling to another country is simply not a financial available thing for the vast majority of the population, so even what you suggesting needs more money than I have.

One more reason to hate the state of technology today is:
Brazil had a real problem with news papers taking photos of crimes, of literal dead people, or even bribe police to get forensic photos to publish on news papers. This was a HUGE issue, there were entire news papers dedicated to that, pages and pages of explicit non censored photos of brutal murders.
In the end of the 90s to the beginning of 2000s there were big efforts to combat this and not let explicit photos of dead people everywhere, not only cuz it's graphic but also how much this is disrespectful to the victims. This is such that I never seen photos of dead people on the news papers when I was little or growing up. Those laws controlling the limits of news papers photos really worked, and I grow up without that shit, a privilege that my parents didn't had.
But now news papers and official news outlets don't even matter anymore, cuz everyone has a phone. And with news being freely spread, so are now the photos of murdered videos. I hate that. Now you are at work or talking to a person and she will simply get their phone and show you a dead body, as if this was an important piece of news. My coworker just did that, and it's becaming incredibly common. People share this on WhatsApp without thinking twice, without thinking it's a fucking dead person. Now you don't need to search this shit, I'm seeing it time to time without my consent, and for a personal anecdote, I hate seeing dead people, it makes me scary, uncomfortable. I didn't even wanted to saw my grandpa dead at his own funeral, to give you an example of how much I m really disgusted of seeing dead people. But none of that matters cuz now I don't have a choice and I'm being traumatized randomly on internet when I didn't even asked for

Controversial opinion as a brazilian. I don't get why USA activism thinks "reclaiming a slur" is a thing. In several Brazilian activist groups, people who are activists are actually recognizable cuz they speak differently from normal people as they refuse to use hateful words or words that have an origin or old use of prejudice.
Exemple, is easy to spot a black person who is involved in the black movimento cuz they refuse to say certain words, that are not considered racist today, but their origin is racist, like the word "Mulata" for exemple. Today is used to describe a pretty black woman, but the origin of the word comes from when Brazil was colonized, and the colonizers called woman like that cuz African woman carried buckets of water in their heads, something African woman do but is not a costume in Europe, so they thought this was ridiculous and called those woman "mulata", meaning "mula" + "lata", literally translated as "mule" + "bucket". A bucket mule. Therefore black activists don't use this word, even tho today no one knows the origin of the word or what it means, it simply means today "black woman", but those activists refuse to use it.
Same with the word "fag". There is actually no word in portuguese against gay men that is has such a fucking hateful background. The most we have is words that associate gay men with feminine stuff, which is waaaay less bad than the word "fag" is. The maximum of "words that is used against gay man that gay men use for themselves" is "viado" that means deer. Cuz deers are delicated animals that jump or walk in a "feminine" manner.
For woman, the word "bitch" is not used AT ALL by anyone who isn't trying to curse you.
And several and several cases that make me, following and reading what people from USA in activism say, quite confused. Cuz "reclaiming slurs" makes no sense as stoping using curse words against your group is low level basic activism
(this post is not an attack to any of those groups, is just me sharing my perception of the differences of brazilian activism basic practices vs USA)
