Charles Leclerc "thanks" Carlos Sainz for blocking him at T3-4 during Q3 of the 2023 Australian Grand Prix.
"Carlos m'a donné une belle aspiration dans les virages 3 et 4, ça sert toujours." 🎥: Charles Leclerc's post qualifying interview, Canal+
OKAY SO. they asked carlos to give charles a tow and he was like this is gonna be tricky!! too many turns here!! but he was trying and asking where charles was bc u you need a straight for a tow and by the time charles got closer, there were multiple turns coming. so a tow couldn’t happen and carlos kinda slowed down a bit and moved to the right side to let charles pass bc, again, too many turns, which in turn maybe confused charles bc he was expecting a tow and this messed up his lap not either of their faults, but the strategist. you need to be straight behind one another in a line to get a tow, meaning you CANT do that in turns! neither of them are at fault like you need to really understand what’s happening and how a tow works in f1. to add on, in conclusion, carlos did not block charles he just got out of the way since they were on diff types of laps and carlos couldn’t give a tow in those conditions, and the strategist called for a tow at a bad time (they dumb are we surprised). WHY ARE PEOPLE SAYING THAT CARLOS NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN NOT SPEED UP? if anything he needed to stay same pace or faster bc why would you go slow to give a tow… he was speeding up and asking where charles is while he was being given the wrong time by the strategist too..
because you're wrong about everything and you should watch the on-boards and check telemetry first between spewing nonsense as facts.
this is what actually happened:
- sainz' race engineer adami asks him to "standby" because the plan is to let charles out first
- sainz replied "i am happy to go" and went out anyway, cutting the line. if he didn't cut the line, he wouldn't have had the opportunity to get in charles' way.
- charles doesn't like tows and never asked for one.
- now that sainz is out in front (against team orders), adami then tells him to give charles a tow on the straight during his prep lap (charles' fast lap). at turn 11, adami warns him that charles is 5s behind.
- sainz doesn't want to give charles a tow and gives the excuse "it's tricky here".
- adami continues to tell sainz about charles' gap behind so he would be able to give the tow and not get in the way
- sainz then SPEEDS UP on his prep lap. he never did a s3 time faster than 42.3 but he manages to do a 40.6 on his prep lap just to avoid giving charles a tow.
- sainz even opens his own drs on the straight on his prep lap just to FURTHER avoid any chance of giving charles a tow
- okay that's fine, since charles doesn't like tows anyway.
- but THEN sainz BRAKES HEAVILY into turn 3-4 to allow charles to pass on the narrow area of the track, ruining charles' turn 3-5 racing line
to summarize, carlos disobeyed team orders TWICE, went out on track when he was told to wait, purposefully SPED UP to avoid giving charles a tow and THEN SLOWED DOWN just to fuck up charles' turn 3-5. even without a prep lap, charles' fast lap matched sainz' EXCEPT at those turns where sainz purposefully obstructed him.
ferrari's strategy sucked, but carlos is an absolute disgrace.
Self-inflicted poetic justice. ❤️
Just sending a daily reminder that Carlos Sainz was invisible for 2 races, then in the 3rd race: disobeyed team orders, obstructed his teammate during quali, and then promptly threw away a top 4 finish by divebombing another driver and thus starting a cascade of carnage that culminated in 4 DNFs.
But yeah, he’s somehow a victim of the FIA and the epitome of mental strength. 🤣
Guess those rumours about the Sainz camp buying off Italian media were true after all.
i will not lie, friends in my phone, i have been imagining affection from time to time

I saw something that was like “we put our lives on pause, but getting vaccinated can help us be able to hit play again” and it just bothered me because I’m not just starting again where I left off. I graduated from college in spring of 2020. I’m never going back to living there and regularly seeing my college friends. I’m never getting my graduation ceremony. I’m not getting my last months of college back. They’re gone!
So anyway this post is dedicated to anybody who went through any transitional period during the pandemic. Whether you graduated, lost somebody, moved, or anything else where you will never truly be able to get the last months/year of [whatever] back. It’s so easy to feel like you should be over it by now and just be grateful whenever you can eat in a restaurant and go into stores again but you lost more than that.
I’m just tired of seeing so many things about “going back to normal” when a lot of us don’t have the same “normal” to go back to.
Some of the worst analogies written by high school students.
I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT NUMBER 4 IS GREAT.
These are genius
I lost it at number 10
“the worst analogies” are the ones you use to write comedy pieces with. They work like a charm if you do them right.
Number 9 is my favourite one. There’s genius in it.
