It's been reported multiple times that Trump is out there encouraging Netanyahu to keep up the bombing while Harris and Biden are working to end it and yet some people dare to say they aren't going to try to get Harris elected and act like that won't directly result in more deaths and violence in this conflict. Palestinians are literally out there right now saying Trump winning - which is what will happen if everyone doesn't get out there and vote for Harris - would be a worst case scenario for them (x). Don't you dare appropriate their struggle to try to justify your failure to do everything in your power to stop the Fascist GOP from getting into office.

Vote Blue all the way down the ballot. Lives are on the line. And if the GOP gets in you may not get a chance to vote again.

copy and paste descriptions into google to see if there are scam accounts reusing the same story, check to see if there are any images/updates on the fund with faces. go to the original blog, check if the post asking for help is only an hour old, or even less than that. refrain from donating if all it links to is a PayPal account, without any further confirmation of identity.

it’s horrible to say but it’s never been a better time for scam artists to exploit your generosity, when things seem so dire, and I’ve donated to campaigns before only to realise later that the entire story was stolen from an actual family in need. due diligence might take a few more minutes out of your day but at least you won’t be sending money to an opportunistic scumbag.

for campaigns on tumblr: please check out @/el-shab-hussein's list of verified fundraisers here on tumblr and also @/nabulsi. they both do incredible work at vetting campaigns.

Finding out if a campaign is vetted should always be your first move, but there are people who get scammed, or at least tricked into sharing scams, either bc they can’t tell the difference between a scam post and a legit fundraiser, or they don’t even bother searching

If you can’t find any proof of verification, or you simply don’t care enough to look through these links of real fundraisers, then you should at least be aware of the red flags of ongoing scams. In my own call out posts, I always try to point out whatever red flags I notice, which I learned about from posts like these:

As a rule of thumb, don't reblog donation posts or people asking for donations unless they've been vetted and reblogged by Palestinian bloggers. We usually go to lengths to verify this shit because we know scammers have been faking to get people to send them money, using the urgency of our genocide as bait.

It's disgusting this is what we're dealing with, but people are losing money because of some truly evil people out there.
