Mara’s Message || She-Ra 03x03, “Once Upon A Time in the Waste”

Mmm. So this brings up a LOT of questions. 

But the one that’s bugging me the most is… why does Mara seem so against the concept of She-Ra?

If she ‘never wanted to be a hero’, why and how did she become She-Ra? When and why did it ‘go bad’? Why was she so determined to stop the She-Ra succession, and why is she so sorry to have failed? Not just for failing in the general sense of ‘saving the planet’, but to the new sword wielder specifically?

Well. There’s a couple of potential clues, like how Mara said “I am the She Ra of Eternia’. (It was potentially ‘Etheria’, I get the two mixed up, and can’t quite recall which). But, regardless, ‘the She-Ra’.

Now, that could just be the full title, like “King Arthur of Camelot”. But it could also be specifying; e.g. there are a LOT of She-Ras out there, for a whole bunch of different planets.

And then… that whole thing with Mara’s skin being a deep brown, while that one vision seemed to show her She-Ra form as white/pale? There are a few explanations for that, like maybe the lighting was just SUPER bright, or maybe it was a mistake on Light Hope’s part, or Adora projecting. But if not… does this mean all She-Ras transform into this same ‘base model’?

If so… I dunno. This is all seeming really, really sketchy. Like, some sort of intergalatic force that sends superpowered beings to ‘settle’ new planets? That strip their ‘She Ras’ of agency and individuality? And being a She-Ra apparently being something so awful that Mara feels the need to apologise to her successor? 

Something’s fishy about the She-Ra(s). I suspect they’re probably not the Horde… but that doesn’t mean they’re the good guys.

This makes Perfuma calling Adora "The She-Ra" all the funnier... or she knows a buncha stuff about She-Ra the other princesses don't and hasn't let on. I mean, Angella already knew about her but she's fuckin immortal. Hmm...maybe she met Mara....? Hmmmm.... *rubs chin*

For a minute I forgot I was watching She-Ra and not a Kdrama

Hordak’s Backstory || She-Ra 03x02 “Huntara”

Ngl I saw someone post a picture they'd drawn of Hordak as Invader Zim (and now I can't fuckin find it but honestly I didn't like...dream it xD) so now when I see this scene all I can think of is that theme tune!

And uh...Hordak standing ankle-deep in a toilet Evil Cackling his head off followed by

"Entrapta! Laugh with me!"

"I don't want to!" *carries on working*

...and this!!! Omfg... This Entrapta is sooooo different from the 80s version, who IIRC was a cold mercenary who cared for no-one, not even the Horde. This Entrapta has depth, a story of her own, and although she's technically a villain, she's not really and repeatedly shows that she likes several of the other characters. She made robot replicas of both Scorpia and Hordak, ffs!! She says this to Adora - who should be her enemy. She fuckin helps her!! Aaah just...just bless her, she's the best! 💜

This whole scene had me smiling but this wholesome moment also meant a lot to me too. I love Entrapta so much and am very moved by her positivity and perspective towards everything

Omg same...I liked Entrapta already but the stuff she said here just made me both rather sad, thinking that she's likely spent a long time on her own (she built herself robot parents ffs!) and that in the present people around her generally find her "weird", but I also felt... reassured that she can still think this way; she doesn't blame anyone for her being alone, she just...gets on with stuff. The stuff she said about Emily as well was just...eeeee :3
