This just broke my heart - my mom has never been anything but accepting of me, and now she’s frightened for my safety. This further hurts because of what it means for LGBT youths - accepting parents will be scared for their children and unaccepting ones will be able to hide behind the homophobia of others to stop their children from expressing themselves fully. Safe spaces for the LGBT community have been possibly irrevocably damaged.
