fucking australia’s trying to get everyone to link their government id to their social media accounts else you cant use them anymore, the actual fuck is wrong with this country

please, actually, get fucking mad over this, the entirety of australia basically just banned all social media for anyone who doesnt want to give up their privacy to the government, there was no vote on this, no nothing, they just went ahead and fucking passed this ridiculously privy law and barely anybody’s talking about it the actual fuck

okay so to actually explain what exactly is happening, it’s an age thing. theyve used ‘protect the children’ and ‘let kids be kids’ as a weapon again. anyone under 16 is banned from social media, but to enforce this they have openly admitted everyone will need to link their government id to their social media. this whole ‘protect the kids’ thing was a very obvious trojan horse for getting ppl to give up their privacy.

and yknow, that alone is a very shitty law even without the whole surrendering your private information to the government thing.

theyve made outside uninhabitable, there’s nowhere left to go. public areas have degenerated, theyve turned hanging out into a crime with loitering, streets feel unwalkable sometimes, parents are more wary of letting their kids walk around on their own than they used to be, and now theyre trying to ban one of the main ways kids manage to distract themselves inside the house.

when i was 15 i was depressed and lonely, unable to leave the house very far, no friends, nobody. the one place that helped me feel less alone was online communities. i wouldve killed myself if it werent for the support i recieved on there. and now theyre trying to ban that for future generations, in a world that hates them being both outside and inside.

and even still, this is still a fucking trojan horse to get you to give up your privacy.

Design drop for my au of the gang in the future. Starting off, the hope man himself! And of course, spoilers ahead since these are designs in the future and a bit of their past will be mentioned.

For the first outfit, it's just a standard casual fit for him. Not quite happy with it as I feel the colors don't harmonize that well. On a meta level though, I feel Makoto is the type of man to not care that much when it comes to matching or looking amazing while at home. So, he'd wear some garments that may not match all to well. He's more concerned about being comfy. For the second outfit, we have Makoto all suited up for work with his reading glasses, silly little vest. Nothing too elaborate but very much professional looking. Makoto probably learned how to style himself more by being around Byakuya after all (the heir would also probably critique poor Makoto's casual attire too but Makoto would be too tired to care) Additionally, I like to think that Makoto is either (a Still the headmaster of the new Hopes Peak Academy or that (b Makoto stepped down to some extent, perhaps working a bit more in the background in the school though still ensuring the school's alright. Furthermore, I feel that, as the Ultimate Hope, he still sometimes does press talks and speeches, sometimes appearing in the public eye. He lives a rather relaxed life aside from all of that though, living in an apartment with Kyoko, maybe planning on getting a house one day. However, he's still fairly busy to fully commit to getting a house quite yet. Compared to his future foundation days, his life is much slower, having time to himself to hang out with his friends, spend time with his sister, stuff like that!

For his physical features, I gave him a bit of a stubble for one. Perhaps he's trying it out or just doesn't have the time to really shave. Maybe he's too tired too as well. I like to believe that this is all he can grow out though. His hair is also grown out a bit. Just a big puffy mass almost like a dandelion when it's all white. Other features for Makoto is that he's just a wee bit wider and squishier, being very much a man pushing 30, he's not going to have that same teen body as he did as a kid. Plus, it can represent that change in his life. He'll never truly be the same from all he's went though yet, he's still him! Additionally, as an average man, I believe he'd tend to fluctuate now and again, sometimes being a bit heavier, sometimes a bit thinner, noting too crazy though. He's never on one end of the extreme. Makoto's not too worried about it anyway!
