Make friends, train hard, and do whatever it takes to become this season's Diamond Idol! ** Hello all, it’s been a while. To be fully honest, I’ve been struggling a lot with my writing this year. When IGMC2018 dropped, I saw it as a chance to light a fire under my butt and force myself to make -something- At the start of development, I was fighting with my same rut, but eventually I managed to break free and really enjoy working on this project with Racheal.

Dia:dol is a game made in a month for IGMC 2018. The theme of IGMC this year was to build a prototype, rather than a finished game. As such, Dia:dol is currently in an unfinished state. This prototype focuses on the first few weeks of one possible route to the game. The game is a visual novel/simulation where you raise your character through training and your friendships through socializing. As of right now, only the bare bones exist, but we hope that by playing it you can see the sort of experience we hope to build with it.

random questions that i've been wondering for a while: how much time lapsed between the events of halloween bash & those of halloween flop? can bobby emotionally mature in her ghost form, or does she perpetually think/act five years old? i love yr games btw

Hello! Sorry for the late reply on this: I was without my computer and internet because of moving. (And I can’t figure out asks on mobile lol)

Halloween Bash was designed with the late 70s to mid 80s in mind when I was designing the characters. (Walk like an Egyptian which is referenced in game came out mid 80s I believe.) Flop was meant to be more late 90s early 00s. So that should give you a good timeline between the two. It’s about 15-20 years.

Bobby doesn’t age, but she does gain the knowledge and experience from the years that pass. Flop was written first, and without the idea of a prequel in mind, but when writing Bobby in Bash, I tried to keep her mostly the same but less knowledgeable about her surrounds and how her new world works.

If you’re 5 for 20 years, you’re still going to learn stuff. But she’s still a naive and sweet scared little girl.

It’s time to announce the winners of the April was a Fool Design Contest!

In first place, is Winter’s design with a landslide of 57% of the votes. A huge, HUGE congrats to our winner! Your design will be featured in the game! I’m very excited~! It’s a great design.

In second place is @fictional01‘s design! It was a tight race between this and another design; watching them battle was pretty epic!

And Maki’s Pick goes to @gourd-clae I found the design to be really charming to work with!

So a huge applause for our winners! And another huge applause to everyone who entered. We got some wonderful designs all around and I was very excited to see them all. (I may just draw them all in the future just because) And yet another applause for everyone who voted. There’d be no winners without you.

Hello everyone! Can you imagine, it’s been a year since we released April was a Fool? I can’t... We’re still chugging away at the expanded version, but it’s time I let you fans take the reigns for a bit.

Though the duration of the original game, May never wore an outfit that belonged to herself. The reasoning for that was that May was not ‘me’ she is all of you! The expanded version of the game will include bits of story after the main plot, some of which are going to require May to wear something that is her own. It just doesn’t feel right that I design that outfit.

So, from today until May 1st at midnight (UTC-07:00), we’ll be holding a contest for fans to design the outfit May will wear after graduating from Hero’s Academy! And to make sure this is by you all, the final decision will be decided by a vote.

Here’s some tips:

* It would be best to keep her original colour scheme of blue, purple, and white. (but you don’t have to) * You can style her hair, but please do not cut it * The outfit must be something that can work for any of the classes the player can pick in game: Mage, Warrior, Priest, Rogue, or, well, “Politician”

The Great Dark Lord, ruler of the Demon Realm, recently suffered his greatest loss when his son, the Dark Lord Prince, ran away from home to elope with his secret lover. Confused, enraged, and filled with fatherly pride and a dictator’s need to control, the Great Dark Lord wanted his son back. And so he sent three of his strongest generals to retrieve his son, telling them to use force if necessary…

In order to blow off some stress from work this busy time of year, I set out to make a goofy game in two days with @indrahladypotato and @jen-the-roommate-friend-with-no Of course, the game ended up taking 12 days in the end, but that’s okay!

This is a silly little RPG with amusing characters, fights that aren’t TOO hard, and a LOT of text you can optionally read by examining the surroundings. It takes about an hour to an hour and a half to play.

I’m happy to say that since we used RPGMakerMV, this game is also avaliable for Mac! Unhappy to say, the Mac version isn’t tested at all. (sorry if it crashes, please let me know!)

There’s a read me file in the ‘www’ folder that can explain things like controls if you are unfamiliar with RPGmaker’s interface. Also, feel free to send me any questions. Most importantly

Do you think there'll be a sequel to Awaf? or any new kind of game? or was this kinda just a one time thing?

April was a Fool won’t have a sequel per se, however we are currently working on expanding the content of the original game, and part of that expansion will be post story for all but one ending. So, while it won’t have a sequel, there is more content coming :) This version of the game won’t be free, though I don’t think we’ll be pricing it super high.

It’s also going to include an all new original soundtrack, proper background art, PJ busts, a few flashback routes, a new HUD, and some new content in the main story as well.

As for other games, Rach and I have a couple in mind. After the expanded version of AwaF is done, we’ll be working on another Visual Novel. (Quite different from AwaF, but still with a unique cast and my personal storytelling, so I think it will be enjoyable :) There’s a demo up, though warning it has no sound and is in very early stages of development.)

If you’re ever looking to play other games by us, AwaF is actually our 7th or 8th game. Here’s a list! 

I’m not about to stop making games anytime soon ;D I love the medium for storytelling.

Hello everyone! I have an exciting announcement to make today! I’ve received our first song for April was a Fool’s new soundtrack!

Everyone give a warm welcome to Scythuz as he joins us in bringing the extended version of AwaF a new sound! Scythuz is no stranger to game music; currently he is a part of 55 Revolver and in the past has worked as a freelance music composer and sound designer. I was pleased when he agreed to work with us! (Check out the rest of the stuff on his Soundcloud! There’s some great songs there that show off his overall sound. Looking forward to when we get to the Dragon battle song for sure!)

This will replace the old “On the Road” song. (the song that plays during the scenes after you first leave the castle and get some alone time.)

New music is the first big step towards making April was a Fool possible for commercial release and now we’re moving forward on this!

Future songs will be previewed only on our Patreon, but I wanted to share the first one with everyone~! Thank you again for all the support you’ve given us! It’s a joy to think we’re able to take AwaF in this direction.

Hello everyone! I’ve set up a patreon to help with funding some of the things involved with April was a Fool’s expansion and future game projects for Dragonfly Studios.

There’s a handful of rewards to be had for each tier including sneak peeks of AwaF’s continued development and other projects that crop up.

This is my first time using Patreon, but hopefully it will go smoothly both for myself and anyone who chooses to support! More milestones and rewards will be added in the future as I can. (like expanding the s6 store to include other games for one thing or translations into other languages, because that is NOT cheap.)

For anyone wondering why I've been so quiet around here the last month, this is why. Working on a 4-10hour game for a contest is a lot of work, but without further delay, I am ready to introduce you all to the fruits of our team's effort.

Sunken Spire is an RPG made for the 2014 Indie Game Maker Contest

Dragonfly Studios (Castle Chase, Halloween Flop, Punch Bears) and Blue Coral Games (Dead Moon Night, The Grumpy Knight, Search for Immortality) come together for the first time ever to create the newest entry in the Arum Universe.

Join Elsa the Death Knight and Alma the Magical Engineer as they complete their mission to investigate an uncovered hidden laboratory in the neighbouring country of Rumen. Sunken Spire is an RPG based around customization with each character having their own unique systems and growths to experiment with.
