Making Useless Things

Can I please get a round of applause for finally finishing my What the Fade shawl? This thing took me close to six months to complete. Thanks to a rain day and being called off work, I spent an awful lot of time casting off and rewatching Stranger Things. It was hard to finish this project, I really enjoyed having something mindless to work on. But man, the endless knitting was well worth it! I can’t believe how much I love this. There were many times during the process where I had to stop and question if this shawl would actually be useful. Boy, was I ever wrong. 

I think casting this off right as Fall arrived was impeccable timing. It is the perfect size for either a cozy scarf, a nice wrap, or in tough times a fabulous blanket.

Cast off and blocked my Robin sweater by Helga Isager. It is such a great relief to finally have this finished. Yet, it is a bittersweet moment. I am not totally in love with this sweater. The fit and shaping are not quite what I imagined them to be. So, I think some time and separation between us might rekindle the love. Still this is a huge achievement to have this off my needles. I learned a lot, and I have a beautiful finished piece. Even if it does end up in someone else’s closet.

DUDE. I finally finished something! I am so pumped up. I love these socks. They fit so well and the colors are so funky and fun. I named them Bridge Over the Koi Pond. Yarn is Knit Picks Stroll in Koi Pond and Hot Tamale.

Look! It is a finished sleeve! It is actually starting to look like a cardigan. Oh man, trying this on was the best. The sleeve is actually a tiny bit short, but who cares, it is finished! (Ok well, I might add a few more rows, but not until later...) I can’t believe I am going to have my very own fair isle cardigan to roam around in. Ugh, so excited!

I finally got these silly socks to look like something...

My goal is to actually finish the second one so I can have a pair.

You know. Because apparently you can't just have one sock.
