Making Useless Things

Hey, what’s up friends!

Not very much on my end. My days are mostly filled with saying goodbye to friends, packing up my house, and worrying my cats are going to die on the 24 hour trip back home. I really haven’t gotten a chance to knit to much lately. I think it has been over a week since I touched these socks. I am really close to finishing the toe... but I just can’t find the time. Part of it has to due with not having any good light once it gets dark, since all of our lamps have been packed up. Which just leaves sitting at the dining room table, which is sort of bummer. 

They are going to be some cool wacky socks though...

Cast off these No Face arm warmers on Sunday. It feels so great to get a project finished. Now I can start another one!

These are far from perfect, but I really don’t mind. I know the No Face’s are a little screwy, and the tension is poor. But they are for me and they make me happy, so... whatever! 

Hopefully I find some time soon to work out a pattern for them. I would like to share it with you all. 

Well... I had a little “whoopsy” when I started the heel, so this sock ended up being turned into an arm warmer. I think for an accident it turned out pretty nice. I still have ends to weave in, and it needs a good blocking, but all in all, its not too bad. 

Hopefully I knit up the second one just as fast!

I finished one! Ugh, these socks might be the end of me. At least the second one will be a bit easier now that I have worked out all the kinks. It was as I was binding off this sock that it would have been way cooler if I had made these No Face from Spirited Away socks instead... Well I guess my husband will enjoy these and I will make the No Face ones for myself :)

Embrace the things that you love, and make time for the things that bring you happiness. It is almost a new month. I am so ready for it. I am leaving my job to spend more time at home pursuing things I truly enjoy. I am very blessed to get this opportunity. Even if its only for a few months. I plan on writing more patterns, becoming a better cook/baker, growing my garden, enjoying Okinawa with my friends, and being at peace. My job was stressful and time consuming. Not to mention it took up a lot of brain space. It is such a relief to be free of it. I hope the month of February is a lovely time for you all!

Trying out some new mittens. They are almost finished... Just gotta make some more lace for the other top of the other one.
