I sense a re-post of this is needed… >.> For those who didn’t see the original posting, this is what everyone’s been referencing lately. lol BEHOLD! The child that was almost Laharl and Flonne’s son! This is a very early design for the main character of Disgaea 3 from the new Harada Artworks II book. He doesn’t even have a name at this point, even. He’s simply “Main Character Concept”. (So I’m not sure could even call him Mao… given if they’d gone with this idea, he’d likely have gotten a volcano themed name. lol ) It’s interesting NIS was toying with this at all! It seems the idea was dropped fairly quickly, given later Mao designs seemed to abandon this idea. And yes, genetics were CLEARLY not thought of here. |D But we know Harada doesn’t think about that sorta thing. lol

But it seems it wasn’t completely forgotten, given a certain cameo. XD

As the student council president admired by all, she is known as the “Moon” of Starview Middle. Transforms into the PreCure of the Moon, Cure Selene!

So, I think this message is supposed to say “Please get rid of this as soon as possible.” 

This leaked artwork should have been under “tight control” you could say.  

At first, I thought this was a message related to the season, but it sounds too sinister to fit, right?

Disgaea light novel translations

So far, there’s only two translated, and I’m not sure if the translator is planning on doing any of the others, but they’re still a pretty fun read. Disgaea Revelations - Set 10 years after Hour of Darkness. This novel features Laharl’s fight with Baal and introduces his extended family: his aunt Yasurl, uncle Vesuvio, and cousins Shas and Kira.

Disgaea Returned - Set 100 years after Hour of Darkness. Laharl receives an invitation to visit Celestia, and meets Flonne’s parents and sister Ozonne. Meanwhile, Kira and Carter plot their revenge.

I would like to make an important note:

The kanji in the tagline writes SPACE and not SKY.

Although, “Space” in Japanese, should be read as UCHYUU. Here, the furigana (the tiny characters on top of the kanji) reads SORA in the tagline — and SORA means sky.

This is a common trick / pun used by a lot of anime / literature in Japanese to add extra layers and context to the meaning.

So ultimately, the tagline would mean “drawing / illustrating in space (or into the space)” as the primary meaning but it also likes to embed an extra meaning of “drawing in the sky, the world, etc.”

— so about “my own imagination”, it’s hard to translate it and not sound weird. Literally, it means “imagination that only belongs to me”. The sentence imply it’s a unique personal imagination… either that no one else would have, or it’s implying it as a personal treasure. (Or both)

So, we can confirm pretty much 3 themes!
