The dungeons are teeming with vicious monsters and brimming with dangerous traps.

Monsters will attack you in real-time in the dungeons. Utilize a range of actions—attack, magic, dashing, jumping, sliding, defending with a shield, flying, and shifting—to swiftly and precisely defeat monsters and progress through the dungeon.

There are six equippable weapon types: sword, blunt weapon, staff, spear, bow, and dagger. Each weapon has its own specialties in terms of attack range and abilities, with skills that vary depending on your class.

—Blunt weapons can be used to destroy certain walls in dungeons, while the staff enables mid-to-long range attribute attacks and speeds up casting times. Each weapon type has unique actions that can be used to navigate the dungeon.

Various actions can also be used to bypass traps, such as sliding under laser beams, jumping over floor traps, or using charging enemies to destroy walls. The key to clearing dungeons is instantly determining the right action to proceed safely.

—Traps can be dodged by sliding or flying, but they can also be skillfully utilized to defeat enemies in one fell swoop.

You will find various equipment and items in the dungeon. Search for treasure chests to acquire powerful weapons and equipment to strengthen your character.

—Even equipment with the same name may have different quality levels or special effects due to titles attached to them.

In Cladun X3, you can choose from 10 different classes. Each class has different stats, preferred weapons, and “Magic Circles” that they can learn.

● Set Up Your Party and Power Them Up! Magic Circles are the Key to Character Development

Magic Circles are a unique party formation system from the Cladun series, enabling a party of multiple characters to function in an action RPG where the player only controls one character.

The player-controlled character—the “main character”—is positioned at the center, while the “sub characters” placed around them provide support and boost their power.

—Placing special items in the Magic Circle activates the sub characters, allowing you to enhance the main character as much as you like.

There are over 200 types of Magic Circles, with some being four times larger than those in previous entries. Certain Magic Circles can support a party of up to 16 characters. New effect spaces have also been added, expanding the variety of power-up combinations.

In battle, sub characters in the Magic Circle act as shields, absorbing damage in place of the main character. As long as the sub characters stay alive, the main character won’t take any damage.

New Magic Circles are learned each time you level up, and the Magic Circles learned differ based on your class. For example, a wizard will learn Magic Circles that specialize in using magic, while a Merchant will learn Magic Circles that allows them to use money.

● Formidable Foes and Treasures Await in the Ever-Changing Random Dungeons (Ran-geons)

The Ran-geon is a 100-level random dungeon separate from the main story dungeons.

Each time you enter the Ran-geon, its layout changes. You’ll need to find either the “gate” to the next level or the “exit” to escape.

Every time you pass through one of the five randomly appearing gates, the monster levels increase, and elements like item drop rates are randomly changed.

If luck is on your side, you will enter a fever state, where items drop with every defeated enemy. But if you are unlucky, monster levels could exceed 1,000, turning your search for the exit into a nightmare…

Try out Ran-geons when you get stuck in the main story and need to level up, or want to dig up rare items to become stronger, or when you want to take on a challenge where life and death is on the line.

—Depending on the gate you enter, all of the enemies may become suddenly stronger, or your HP and SP may fully recover, making this dungeon a fun gamble. If you are not careful, you could be wiped out entirely!

Additionally, Cladun X3 offers a new type of Ran-geon called “Map-geons,” which can be generated using the “Magic Map.” Magic Maps can be obtained randomly by clearing the lowest level of a Map-geon, and can be shared with other players through the network.

● Challenge Dungeons with Your Own Customized Character

In Cladun X3, the main character that the player controls, as well as the sub characters that form your party, and the graphics for the characters’ weapons and armor can all be customized by the player, allowing you to challenge dungeons with characters all your own.

—Players can fully customize their characters’ appearance using pixel art.

—Use the “draw” tool to create original weapons and armor. With the introduction of flying in this game, you can now also draw wings.

—Your lovingly crafted customized characters will fight and explore as you play.

—The weapons they use and magic they learn is up to you.

—You can even recreate your favorite characters in the game.

The customization does not stop at character creation. Cladun X3 offers an enhanced music editor that allows you to create original background music. The main story is one of world reformation, in which protagonist Fuji and Piririka set out on a journey to overthrow the Oedo Shogunate.

In doing so, Fuji’s party will face various challenges. Encounters with allies, confrontations with enemies, betrayal, lack of money… overcome all of these obstacles to overthrow the Shogunate.

—Those who want to get to fighting faster can use Event Skip to progress through the text quickly.

■ Battle: Flow and Rules

After the event ends, the battle will begin. Instruct each ally character, go back and forth between your turn and the enemy’s turn, and defeat all enemies to clear the stage. Depending on the results of the battle, you may obtain additional rewards.

■ Battle: Basic Actions

The fundamentals of combat are move + one action. Move close to the enemy to attack, run far from the enemy to recover, and so on according to the situation.

Early on, protagonist Fuji is the character you will rely on most. Deploy ally characters to support Fuji’s attacks.

—You will only be able to scout a few characters at first, but as you progress through the story, you will be able to scout all sorts of characters.

Characters you have developed can become stronger through “Reincarnation.” By reincarnating a character, their level will return to 1, but the strength of their original class will carry over.

For example, if you reincarnate a developed Warrior into a Mage, you can create a Mage that excels in physical attacks.

Reincarnate and re-training numerous times over will make a big difference. Utilize Reincarnation to develop characters all your own.

—Reincarnation can be performed at The Dark Assembly.

■ Base Prep: Upgrade Items at the Item Worlder

Characters can be reincarnated, so why not items? After upgrading items at the Item Worlds in randomly generated dungeons, peform “Item Reincarnation.” You may even create an item with crazy abilities!

—Clear an Item World to increase the items level, and then reincarnate!

To perform Item Reincarnation, you must clear the Item World of that item. The Item World is a mysterious dungeon within that item. You can challenge them from the Item Worlder.

Downloadable content for Disgaea 7 will be released in two parts.

The downloadable content will include original scenarios that see the cast of Disgaea 7 get involved with familiar characters from previous games in the series.

Seraphina, Axel, and other popular characters who have yet to make the jump to 3D will appear in fully realized 3D.

Additionally, characters will co-star in dream scenarios that cross the boundaries of the series. Enjoy conversations between characters that have never spoken to each other before.

■ Evilities and Dobilities Examples

Warrior (Male) – Melee Attack Type

A close-range fighter that has high melee attack and defense stats. It specializes in fighting on the frontlines, where its stats can be boosted per each adjacent enemy.

He often will be the target of an attack, so it is recommended to pair him up with a Priest who can use heals and buffs. Further increasing his defense and survival rate is his key to victory.

Witch (Female) – Magic Type

A character who specializes in magic, and can use magic without worrying about SP consumption due to her combination of SP recovery skills and moderation abilities. Be wary of status ailments such as “Amnesia” because this would not allow her to use special skills. Prevent this by using equipment and skills, or letting her carry “Fariy Dust”—an item that negates status ailments.

The Witch is lacking in defense, so it is recommended to pair her up with the Armor Knight and attack from a distance.

—What is Magic?

Magic consists of special skills that certain characters such as unique characters, Clerics, Witches, and Rune Knight can learn. (All characters can learn magic by meeting certain criteria.)

Magic has three basic elements: “fire,” “wind,” and “water.” By hitting enemies with elements they are weak against, you can deal major damage!

Continuing to use magic will hone your skills and allow you to attack enemies from a distance. Utilize and strengthen your favorite magic attacks!

If you want to strengthen your magic further, equipping a “Staff” can help you out! Staffs enable you to boost the effect and range of your magic skills.

Professor – Support Type

A magic using class that can use support and healing magic. They also have unique abilities developed from magic science, such as buffing party members and brainwashing enemies to join your team.

They specialize in support skills, so pairing them up with melee characters is recommended. When paired with a Martial Artist or Warrior, the Professor can strengthen them as well as join in on the action with its own magic attacks ==.

Prinny – Monster Type

The bottom of the barrel in the Netherworld. It has the weakest stats and is considered the “minion of minions.” It has an ability to explode and dish out a set amount of damage, but the amount of damage relates to the amount of HP it has, so throwing a Prinny with high maximum HP will cause massive damage.

It is recommended to be paired with Armor Knights who have a long throw distance, and Clerics who can boost maximum HP.

Thief (Male) – Support Type (New Character)

A thief boy who loves collecting treasures. Defeating an enemy creates a chance for treasure to drop, so it is recommended to let him take the final blow. He also has the ability to make the contents of treasure chests better, so having him break the chest is a good idea.

He is also immune to the explosions caused by Prinnies. So use him not only to throw your own Prinnies, but also to throw enemy Prinnies.

Maiko – Support Type (New Character)

A support character who can charm and re-activate allies, and use support items. Although she has low defense, she has abilities to charm the male enemies who attack her.

She can also strengthen the attack of male allies, so teaming her up with male characters is recommended. Shrooms are strong against female characters, so if you have one in your party, you will have a team that can adapt to any gendered enemy.

Death Princess – Monster Type (New Character)

A close range melee-type character with high attack and low defense. She has the ability to revive herself once, and can also drain enemy HP and recover HP at the end of turns, so she has a high survival rate despite her lack of defense.

She can become nearly invincible with the support abilities of a Cleric, and when paired with a Flora Beast she can even become a stronger attacker that annihilates the battlefield.

Giant Eye – Monster Type (New Character)

A ranged magic-based character with a high intelligence stat despite its looks. This character has many skills that are difficult to use, such as randomizing defensive stats or making a character unable to evade, but has reduced damage.

It has an ability that makes attacks to enemies that inflict status ailments become a critical hit, so pairing them with a Sorcerer or Winged Warrior is recommended.

Samurai (Male)

A samurai that lives by its own bushido code, and takes pride in his honor and protecting others. Although in Hinomoto, it is becoming more difficult to live by his own bushido…

A samurai who mainly fights outside of the Hinomoto Netherworld. She specializes in one-on-one combat.

Ninja (Male)

A cold-blooded assassin who lives in the shadows. He boasts high mobility and can sprint around the battlefield with ease.

She has a high evasion stat due to her excellent athletics. She also has a girly side that fantasizes about cute clothes.

Archer (Male)

A level-headed man that gets things done. He often gets into fights with the female archer.

A kindhearted Netherworld hunter. She specializes in ranged attacks with her bow.

Gunner (Male)

A gunman with lethal speed and high accuracy. He always kills his targets.

Two characters on your team and two enemies can Dodeka MAX at one time, so use it to even the battlefield! The timing of when and who you chose to Dodeka MAX will affect the tide of battle.

You can choose to Dodeka MAX by their stats, dobility, or use the power to Dodeka MAX to carry out the battle in your favor!

Find your favorite characters from the biggest roster in the series. Other than unique characters like Fuji, many generic characters whose classes the player can edit will appear as well!

Understand the characteristics of each weapon, and use them to their limits!

The seven weapon types will let you unlock powerful weapon specific skills by continuing to use them. Situations where which weapon skills are most effective differ by types, such as swords having a wide range of attack and axes that have the strongest melee attack against a single target.

Train your army wisely with which character to be able to use which weapon!

From borrowed muscles and amulets filled with memories, Disgaea has many crazy items. Disgaea has a variety of equippable items other than weapons.

Each equippable item is unique and boosts your stats depending on what type it is. If you feel frail and need an HP boost, try equipping “muscles”; when you want to travel great distances, equip “shoes.” Equip each character different items according to their traits.

Strengthen your items by exploring dungeons that change every time you enter!

The series signature item leveling system “Item World” is back again in Disgaea 7. Strengthen your items inside a random dungeon that changes appearance every time you enter.

You will be able to enjoy clearing a different stage every time since the enemies and structure will change with each entry. Where there are weak weapons there will be weak enemies, and where there are strong weapons, strong enemies. You’ll need to strategize accordingly or else you may end up wiping out your whole army! Enjoy a tough challenge a little different from normal stages!

The most evil weapon used to be a pancake? Aim to develop the most evil weapon by reincarnating them to add strength.

When clearing an item realm, the item can item reincarnate! Reincarnated items will retain the traits of its past as well as use new abilities. Swords that can use spear skills, bows that make you faster, the combination of abilities are endless!

Reincarnate your weapons again and again to create the most evil weapon!

It doesn’t matter what you are good or bad at, as long as there is love! Even if your favorite characters has weak stats, or has skills that do not fit in with your army, try leveling them up.

Reincarnating them will let you carry its stats and skills, while leveling them up from level 1, and enable you to create a character who’ll be useful someday.

In Disgaea, where anything goes, you can make your character become as strong as you wish as long as you have love! Toss them into epic battles with out thinking too much about following a guide to develop your characters!

Combine the forces of the most badass characters and create your own army!

In Disgaea, you can create your one of a kind army from all the characters you’ve developed. Of course you can build a “girls-only” or “Japanese-esque” army, but also a “strongest weak character army” or a “one-man army” that is super strong!

■ 3. Breath Life into Your Characters with Artificial Intelligence

In “Demonic Intelligence,” the mode in which you set your character’s artificial intelligence, you can tweak detailed settings like “what to do” in “what situation.” If you set an artificial intelligence, the characters will battle by themselves without your commands!

It will be of course useful in leveling up your characters, but also there is a ranked battle mode using “Demonic Intelligence,” so be sure to set different artificial intelligence for different occasions.

Maybe you can even find an artificial intelligence setting that can clear a stage in one turn, or win in any situation? Find your ultimate strategy by battling the CPU and players all over the country!

Gather character developing resources by using “Masoline”! In Disgaea 7, you will need to use a resource called “Masoline” that can be obtained whenever you clear a stage by yourself to initiate the “auto-battles.”

When challenging a stage you’ve already cleared by auto battle, using the same amount of Masoline as last time will let you clear the level without the battles and obtain experience and loot.

The amount of Masoline will differ according to how many turns it took to clear. If you can tweak the machine edit and members of your army just right, clearing in fewer turns, you can gain a lot of experience points efficiently.

Disgaea is a simulation RPG series set in an over-the-top Netherworld, where demons, angels, heroes, and evil lords run amok. Since the release of the first entry in 2003, it has been favored by fans for its “game system that allows you to do anything and everything” and “infinite replayability,” and has stayed Nippon Ichi Software’s core franchise.

In Disgaea 7, the story is set in a world called the “Hinomoto Netherworld Cluster,” which is inspired by Japanese culture. Our heroes will fight through the world in order to regain their lost Bushido. Many characters designed by Takehito Harada will appear, and the Disgaea series’ signature “replayability features” and “over-the-top battle systems” have been further enhanced.

“Quick Slash” is a sword battle skill that quickly comes around in the order of actions.

“Fire Spear” is a fire magic attack that pierces through three tiles on the grid.

—Cook

While not fit for combat, cooks have high cooking skills. And while they may not be one for the frontlines, they can shine as the party’s healer.

“Low-Quality Food Affinity” is a passive skill that can reduce the disadvantages of eating low-quality foods.

Search for the Ultimate Gear with Extra Skills!

Weapons and armor can be obtained randomly from treasure chests within the dungeon. Gear with the same name can sometimes have different skills and skill levels. The higher the rarity, the more and greater skills tend to be attached to the gear, making it a critical part of enhancing your adventure experience. Open many chests to find the ultimate gear with extra skills.

—Skills attached to gear are random, but the gear’s rarity greatly affects this.

Weapons

There are four types of weapons: swords, axes, spears, and bows. You can also fight with your hands by not equipping a weapon. Attack range, attack power, and the skills you can acquire differ with each weapon.

—Bows have a long attack range, but use an arrow when attacking. Make sure to craft arrows before battle.

Armor

There are three types of armor: head armor, body armor, and accessories. These affect your statuses such as your defense, as well as enhance your adventurers by possessing different skills.

Flip the Tides with “Corpse Consume”!

“Corpse Consume” is a command that restores your HP by eating fallen enemies or allies, and also activates a special skill that will only be active during that battle. How much HP you restore and which skills activate depend on the corpse you eat, but it can turn the tides of battle. When surrounded by strong enemies, make sure to consider the skills you can activate by consuming a corpse.

—By consuming the corpse of a Sadeye, the skill “Focused Shot” activates.

—Since “Focused Shot” is active, your attack will be a Critical Hit.

—Mandoragoras have the ability to attack twice. By consuming their corpses, your adventurers can use that ability as well.

Create Advantages by Surprise Attacks and Chains!

—Advantage

Running into monsters while exploring will trigger a battle. But if you touch them from behind without being noticed, you can start the battle in an “Advantage” state. In this state, everyone in your party can take action before the enemy.

This is reversed when you enter battle by an enemy running into you from behind. Beware of your surroundings to avoid being caught off guard.

—Chain (Link Attacks)

When you attack an enemy that is within another party character’s attack range, there is a fixed chance it will become a link attack. Your other party members will follow up with an additional attack.

Bows have weaker attack power than other weapons, so its true strength can be seen in Chains.

—By taking the initiative, you can significantly reduce the amount of damage you take. Always aim to start battle in the “Advantage” state.

—The cut-ins set in the Pose Editor will appear on screen when a link attack is activated.

Survival Tips

—#1. Komugi-modoki-mizuabu (fake flour fly) can be turned into an ingredient resembling flour. It may widen the range of foods you can cook.

—#2. Ingredients have an expiration date. Their effects will lower as their freshness decreases. In order to prolong their freshness, you can try different methods such as freezing or smoking them.

—#3. Feed expired ingredients to your enemies.

—#4. There are mysterious altars within the dungeon. Offering magical stones to them may bring change to your adventurers and monsters.

—#5. In volcanic regions, not only do you need to watch out for the heat and dehydration, there will also be dangerous lava flowing throughout. Make sure you are prepared.

—#7. You can lure monsters by setting traps. Try crafting them once you have the ingredients.

—#8. During the night, monsters become more dangerous. Even monsters you were able to defeat with ease during the day may become a threat at night. Also, being on the same floor for too long attracts powerful monsters. Know when to move on.

The Monsters that Inhabit the Dungeon

Dungeons are inhabited by a variety of monsters. From time to time, you may encounter special types labeled “Elite” or “Unique.” Since these monsters have different traits and resistances from normal types, you might get hurt if you act reckless… But you can gain plenty of experience points by defeating them, and they have a higher drop rate for rare ingredients, so take them on if you think you have it in you.

—Soldier: A lizard monster that attacks in groups.

—Mercenary: The Unique form of a Soldier. It has the ability to increase the defense of other monsters of the same type.

Also, by going far enough into the dungeon, you will encounter and battle a boss monster that guards the altar. Defeating this boss will make your adventure a little easier, as the altar can be used as a starting point for the party.

Boil or Grill It! Learn Skills by Eating Adventure Foods!

“Adventure Foods” are made by combining ingredients found in the dungeon. They replenish calories, boost stats, and can even be used to learn new skills.

You can also make completely different dishes using the same ingredients depending on how you cook them.

Failure is a key part of cooking. Try not to follow the recipe exactly all the time.

—By “grilling” two types of meat, you will make “roasted meat.” This is said to be the original meat dish and can be made from the start of your adventure.

—By “frying” the same ingredients, you will make kushikatsu. While it recovers less HP than grilled meat, it allows you to learn more skills.

Even when cooking the same dish, its perfection level will vary depending on the ingredients used and the cooking ability of the party member that made it. The more perfect the dish, the higher its recovery and ability boost rate.

Save Your Eyes from Low-Quality Dishes! “Safety Mode” Disguises Its Appearance!

Since Shikabanegurai no Boukenmeshi is all about surviving in a dungeon, you will inevitably come across some revolting ingredients or dishes with a strong visual impact. For those who have a phobia of insects or disgusting things, but want to play this game, there is an option to turn on or off “censors” that black out the stuff that might be hard to look at.

While you can choose your difficulty level at the beginning of the game, the hardcore gameplay will not change—when you die, you start again from level 1. There are four difficulty options, from “Easy” in which you can obtain a wealth of ingredients, to “Nightmare” in which death always follows. You can change the difficulty level mid-game.

—Good to play even if you are bad at games! Choose the difficulty level that suits you.

Pay Attention to the Flavor Text!

All items—ingredients and recipes included—feature flavor text containing various information that offer a glimpse into the game’s world. Why not snack on it during your adventure?

—“Insect Bread” instead of “Steamed Bread”? What in the world is this made out of…? (Editor’s Note: Both “Insect Bread” and “Steamed Bread” are read as “Mushipan” in Japanese.)

Survival Tips

—#1. If your adventurers are fatigued, they will not be able to unleash their full strength and may fall to enemies they would normally defeat with ease.

—#2. You may encounter a monster with a green, fruit-like head during your adventure. Be careful as its stats may differ from normal monsters.

—#3. The dish known as kushikatsu seems to have been passed down from culture to culture.

■ Story

“Stranded in a dungeon!? Escape while fighting your hunger and thirst!”

A group of adventurers end up stranded in a dungeon that they heard was “for beginners.” When their thirst and hunger were at their peak, they come across a corpse of a giant dead monster.

Once the group manages to escape starving to death, they look for a way out. Reach for the surface by eating delicious things, weird things, and everything in between.

■ Characters

Create your own adventurer!

Your adventurers end up stranded inside the dungeon’s “sealed place,” which has been known to be where new adventurers head to prove their worth.

You can change the appearance of your adventurers at the start of the game. You can create up to four characters. Once you have formed a party of up to four characters, head off to your adventure!

What you can do in the character creator.

At the beginning of the game you can change the hair, face, voice, and job of your character. This can be also changed during the game by crafting and using certain items.

Jobs can rage from Swordsman, which specializes in sword combat; Cook, which can bring variety to your survival foods; and Unemployed, which house infinite possibilities.

Characters will acquire different skills and status growths, so finding your favorite combination is part of the fun.

■ System: Survival – Dungeon Diving x Survival

Survive in the dungeon!

You can freely move around the map, gathering plants and minerals, as well as fight monsters to obtain their meat. The deeper you dive into the dungeon, the stronger the monsters will become, but the better the materials you can find.

Your biggest enemy is “calories” and “hydration”?

Exploring can mean finding useful materials for continuing your adventure, but depending on the moves you make, you will use up your “calories” and “hydration.” Once your calories and hydration reach a critical state, you will have a hard time fighting. Fighting monsters and eating them, and eating and exploring—make sure you have a balanced adventurer’s diet!

The key to your adventure is camping.

Whenever you proceed to the next floor in a dungeon, you can take a rest. Ready yourself for the enemies ahead by cooking with the materials you gathered and upgrading your weapons.

■ System: Battle – Eat, Feed, and Procure Ingredients!

Survival x Strategy RPG

A fusion between survival gameplay of living inside a harsh environment and Simulation RPG gameplay of leading and training your units!

Whenever you touch a monster on the map, it will seamlessly transition into battle. Battles are carried out on a grid-based strategy RPG system. Turns will play out according to whoever has the most speed on the battlefield. Calories and hydration will also be used during battles, so be sure to make wise decisions.

Powering up with monster meat!? Change the tide of battle by eating ingredients!

When you defeat a monster, you will get different ingredients depending on the monster. Eating these will replenish your calories and hydration but give the adventurer a status boost for a limited time as well.

You can also aim to feed your enemies certain foods to weaken them…?

Put everything in your mouth, whether it is a monster’s corpse, a weed you just picked, or your friend that just died.

■ System: Cooking – Go Beyond with Adventure Foods!

Cook up “Adventure Foods” with gathered materials.

You can cook “Dishes” by combining multiple materials that will enhance your adventurer’s statuses. If there is character with high “cooking skill,” the dishes will have better effects despite having the same recipe.

Using materials as items to consume and enhance, or to use them to grow your basic stats is up to your experience and judgement.

There are over 50 recipes of foods that will lighten up your adventures. Try different combinations to create new foods!

■ Overlord Laharl Appears in the Series’ Traditional “After Story”

In the “After Story” scenario unlocked by clearing the main game, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness protagonist Laharl, and heroines Etna and Flonne make an appearance, and fight with Zed and company for the title of strongest. Please look forward to seeing Laharl and company in 3D.

Laharl (voiced by Kaori Mizuhashi)

The protagonist of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness.

He is the successor to the Overlord of another Netherworld, and prides himself on being the Netherworld’s most evil. He has a supreme and self-centered personality.

■ A World Inside an Item!? Item Worlds Detailed

Items such as weapons and consumables have a world inside them called an “Item World.”

Item Worlds are divided into several floors (layers), and the item’s level increases for every floor you clear. Since weapons become stronger as they level up, you can clear their Item Worlds to power them up. Once an item is leveled up, you can get the same item at the same level from then on.

Many enemies will attack Zed and company, who are the invaders in Item Worlds. Destroy them or step on the Skip Gate to proceed to the next floor. By defeating the boss that appears every certain number of floors, the item will become even stronger.

Item Worlds also feature a third force in addition to enemies, such as “Innocents” and “Lucky Boards.” Although neither will actively attack you, you can gain various benefits by defeating them, so be sure to attack if you seem them.

■ Dispatch Companions into Item Worlds! Item World Research Squad

Item Worlds have various elements to enjoy, but it may be too much to handle if there are a lot of items you want to enhance…. Not to worry! In Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, you can dispatch an “Item World Research Squad” to clear Item Worlds.

—The stronger the squad dispatched to the Item World, the higher their success rate. For each battle the player completes, the dispatched squad will clear one floor, so be sure to send out a squad when leveling or auto-repeating.

—When you dispatch a squad, you can select from four areas of research to prioritize (item enhancement, item exploration, Innocents farming, and Extract farming). Select which ones to prioritize based on your goal. If you select all four areas of research, the results will be the same as not selecting anything at all, so be sure to narrow down the areas you want to research!

■ New Team Attack System With Up to 10 Characters

When attacking, if there are party members in the surrounding two tiles, a “Team Attack” will occur and strengthen your attack power.

Furthermore, in Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, you can perform a Team Attack with up to 10 characters at once. It is significantly more powerful than any Team Attack prior, and can even occur when using special skills. Build up damage in Team Attacks and set your sights on defeating the God of Destruction!

—During Team Attacks, you can see the cut-ins illustrated by Takehito Harada. Line up your favorite characters and attack in unison!

—You can also change the colors of characters, which changes their cut-in illustration colors.

■ Big is Strong! Gain the Upper Hand with Giant Units

Among the generic monster characters are Giant Units five times their size. By taking advantage of their size, you can even obstruct the enemy’s movement. Giant Units also have higher basic abilities than other characters and their normal attack has a wide range, allowing them to easily overwhelm lower-ranking enemies.

Dragon

Can attack three tiles in front. The more the enemy attacks it, the higher its attack power becomes, so press forward and repel the enemy.

Clawed Shell

Can three tiles in front, just like the Dragon. Utilize its defense power and size to counterattack while obstructing the enemy’s movement.

Horseman

Can attack three tiles straight ahead. It has long reach and the highest mobility of all the Giant Units.

■ Previous Disgaea Protagonists and Heroines Also Appear

Not only will Laharl, Etna, and Flonne from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness appear, the protagonist and heroines of Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice, Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, and Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will also appear in 3D. These protagonists and heroines will be released as downloadable content sometime after the launch of Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny.

Nippon Ichi Software has released new information and screenshots for dungeon RPG Labyrinth of Galleria: Coven of Dusk, including basic elements, characters, and four facets (character classes).

■ What is Labyrinth of Galleria?

“Galleria Palace” is an estate built in a remote area.

It is said that there is an untrodden labyrinth beneath it, where strange, mysterious, unidentified art pieces called “strange objects” are stored…

The player becomes a “wandering soul” summoned to the magic lantern “Necrolantern” by the witch Madam Malta, and with the help of her exploration assistant Eureka, must seek out the strange objects in the underground labyrinth.

—It is said that the underground labyrinth is where the mysterious and unidentifiable works art pieces known as “strange objects” are stored.

—At the witch Madam Malta’s command, the player will search for strange objects in the mysterious and dangerous underground labyrinth.

Dreadful monsters will attack the player as they search for strange objects in the labyrinth. Fighting them is a good thing to do, but it may not always be possible to win. If you encounter a monster that looks stronger than you, be sure to escape.

The labyrinth is complex, and it is not always possible to move forward by simply continuing along the path. By using the power of the player’s avatar Necrolantern, it may be possible to discover new areas by destroying walls, diving underwater, and forging your own path.

Humans cannot enter the underground labyrinth and return alive, so the player will command a brigade of “puppet soldiers” created by the witch to clear the monster-filled labyrinth. The deeper you proceed into the labyrinth, the stronger and more dreadful the monsters that appear. Puppet soldiers will grow as they fight, so train them well and press onward.

—The “Man-Eating Wardrobe,” the only entrance (and exit) to the underground labyrinth, is a fearsome strange object. Humans who enter it cannot return alive.

You can make however many “puppet soldiers” you like as long as you have the materials to do so. When making them, you can decide all the parts that make up the unique elements of that puppet soldier, including its name, appearance, and how it will grow. Make your puppet soldiers how you like and take them into the dungeon.

By registering the puppet soldiers you have created with an item called “Soul Pact,” you can form a “coven” of puppet soldiers. The puppet soldiers that belong to a coven fight in cooperation with each other. It is up to the player to decide which puppet soldiers belong to which coven, so create covens as you see fit.

A bright and kind-hearted girl who came to Galleria Palace after seeing a poster for an exploration assistant. She assist the witch Madam Malta in exploring the underground labyrinth. She is good at housework and looks after the player’s avatar Necrolantern.

Madam Malta, The Old Witch

An old witch who goes by the nickname Grandma. She will search to find the strange objects hidden within the labyrinth using the puppet soldiers. She is skilled in necromancy and alchemy, and looks just as you would expect a witch to look.

Perico, The Witch’s Granddaughter

The granddaughter of the witch Madam Malta. She travels with and assists Madam Malta. She is a silent and unfriendly, and loves cats.

Wonder Corsair

While they may also be called the adventurer, hero, or mercenary-type, this is a martial arts-dedicated facet that can handle any situation. It can wield various weapons and has the flexibility to survive on the battlefield regardless of whether it is fighting on its own or in a group.

A new title from director Yu Mizokami, who created the popular horror action series Yomawari, Mad Rat Dead offers exhilarating action in which you progress through rhythmic stages according to the music in a cartoon-style world where a rat fights against humans.

■ Mad Rat Goes on a Grand Adventure in a Cartoon-Style World

This is the adventure story of “Mad Rat,” a lab rab that lived and died in a cage, who uses the “final day” granted to him by the “Rat God” to get revenge on humans!

Mad Rat Dead is depicted in a cartoon style. Mad Rat uses his “heart” as his partner to adventure to places where humans live, such as downtown or the research institute.

—Mad Rat is a lab rat on the verge of death. Players take control of this pitiful rat and aim for revenge on humans! How will Mad Rat enact his revenge?

Mad Rat

A lab rat that was used as a test subject by humans and lived his life in a cage. On the “final day” granted to him by the Rat God, he plots to get revenge on humans.

Although hot-tempered and impatient due to his hatred for humans, he can also be compassionate in that he cannot ignore someone in need.

His favorite thing is cheese (which he has never eaten). He hates humans and cats.

Heart

Mad Rat’s heart, which suddenly jumps out of his body and speaks. Overly friendly, just about everything he says is positive. He tends to get on Mad Rat’s nerves and make him angry.

He thinks that Mad Rat trying to get revenge on the humans is insane, but even with all that said and done, lends him a hand in his revenge.

Rat God

The Rat God who appeared in front Mad Rat, who died and crossed over to the world of the dead. She is super cute (according to Mad Rat).

She sympathizes with Mad Rat, who lived and died in a cage, and grants him a “final day.”

She tells Mad Rat that, “When you fulfill your dreams, you can die a peaceful death without regrets,” and supports his dream of getting revenge on humans.

Doctor

A human doctor who used Mad Rat as a lab rat and made him live his life in a cage. Mad Rat hates this doctor and plans to get his revenge.

The doctor is doing some sort of research, for which he keeps a number of caged rats.

■ Rhythm x Side-Scrolling Action

Mad Rat Dead is a rhythm action game in which Mad Rat moves to the beat by pressing buttons to match the rhythm of the music. Press the button at the right time to guide Mad Rat to the cheese at the end of the stage.

Since you can can feel the rhythm through the rumble of the controller, but with the notes shown on the bottom of the screen, you will be alright even when you are unsure of when to push the buttons.

—The “Rat God” will teach you how to play the game’s rhythm action at the beginning of the game.

■ Choose Your Actions with Good Rhythm According to the Situation

It is important not only to press buttons with good rhythm, but also to choose the best action according to the situation.

Dash

This quick movement is the basic action of Mad Rat Dead. Dashes can also be used in mid-air, as well as to hop over small steps.

Jump

With the high jump action, you can jump over large holes and obstacles. You can use the dash action to jump further mid-jump. Run around the stage as you please!

Attack

The action to attack enemies. By jumping near an enemy, Mad Rat will leap at and whack the enemy. You can also whack the enemy by diving.

Dive

The action to dive down from mid-air. While there are a limited amount of places to use it, it is useful for quickly descending to the ground.

Charge

The action to build up power and strengthen the action that follows. It can be used on the ground or in mid-air, and lengthens the distance of a dash.

■ Aim for the High Score

When you clear a stage, results will be shown based on how fast you beat the stage and how many times you played along with the game’s rhythm. Try and try again to hone your rhythm and action skills to get a high score!

—By performing actions that match the rhythm one after the other, you can chain together a combo that gets your Heart excited. If you can maximize your Heart’s excitement, then getting a high score should be no problem!

■ Featuring the Musical Sounds of Seven Artists
