im not one to ship characters unless they are canon - for non-canon max is just me thinking that 'oh they are a cute duo!' , nor did I think about Nishinoya and Tanaka as lovers..
Ironically, just yesterday I was thinking "Man.. Logically Tanaka and Nishinoya just might aswell be a better duo than any other Tanaka + (someone) duo or any other Nishinoya + (someone) duo. But It feels kinda weird tho- cant see them do romantic stuff.. most is probably '*kiss* no homo dude' "

Ahhh thank you so much!! It's true, Noya really is my beloved son boy and it shows... Funnily enough, I didn't actually come in the fandom already liking Tananoya as ship lol. I love Noya and Tanaka both separately as characters and I like their general dynamic. And they just make the most sense to me for each other?
Which I think might also a big appeal for the other people I know who are into them as well. Their dynamic as friends, just goofing off and being stupid with each other, is a big part of their appeal as a ship. And you know, sometimes friends are in love and make out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Idk if you ever want to venture into fics too (no pressure) but then you'll notice that this dynamic is def something that will continuously come up, even sometimes with the no-homo and bromance jokes lol
It def doesn't come across as much in my art because i am not big into making comics and I love me some yearning, smitten gazes but I, too, fully think these two as ship as just as goofy and silly and stupid as they are as just platonic friends.

I'm writing/will be writing a fic about canon-Timeskip!Nishinoya island hopping alone, by himself because he's done it plenty of times before. He finds the literal fountain of youth, except it doesn't work like people thought it did. It gives him time-powers instead, he can only go back in time, never forwards. He can go back multiple times, in exchange for his blood.
The first thing he thought of as he fell and was subsequently submerged by the strong currents, into the very deep fountain/waterfall of youth was that he never got to say goodbye to Ryuu.
So there he goes, time-travelling into the moment they first met. Karasuno High School gymnasium, as first years. Nishinoya passes out from, like, 3 pints of missing blood. 1 pint = 3/4 years? 1 drop = a few seconds (I'm still working on the math)
But this is TanaNoya, so of course Yū catches Ryuu's attention, as well as everyone elses when he passed out.
Any thoughts? Suggestions?
(p.s. might not write this at all, am still convincing myself, so if I don't write it, somebody pls go ahead)
Ahhh!!! I think is so fun?? Time travel def has so much potential generally - man and I already have so much questions, I love thinking about this. Like you could make it a situation of a time loop and Noya has to do something specific to return to his actual time (like properly saying "goodbye" however you want to define this as some sort of conclusion? Is it really just saying goodbye or if it's Tananoya, is it more about confessing/admitting his own feelings?) ofc all the questions too like is he stuck in the past now? is it really a time loop of some sort? Is he just yeeted back to his own timeline and has to repeat it in entirety for whatever reason? Will this meddling in the past influence the relationship he has with the current timeline Tanaka? Does Noya retain all his memories of growing up when send back in time? Will the others in the past figure out there is something weird about this Noya, does he behave differently now somehow? Also tbh I'm a big believer in not every idea has to become a big something. Sometimes I make up Aus for shits and giggles and they never go past some doodles. Sometimes ideas are just meant to be a little story you tell other people and they bounce back with their own ideas and what ifs, like a campfire story! Absolutely love me some campfire stories
