*Boy, that sure is catchy
this is every marvel trailer ever im sobbing ont he floor i can literally envision steve rogers narrating while tony stark punches something in rhythm of the beat
And it’s effective, isn’t it.
when I was a wee little knee high just starting to write I remember reading or hearing advice somewhere. ‘Always open your story on an action sentence’. Because you can fill in backstory as you go and characterization and build your world but your first sentence is the one your readers will either commit with or just settle for. Make your opening sentence count. I have, occasionally, not started a story on an action sentence and had the story flow beautifully. But yeah - even now - most of my stories start with a ‘grabber’ sentence. Write your ‘a single note. opening shot’ sentence. Give your readers the feeling that sticking around for the rest is going to pay off.
*FURIOUSLY TAKING NOTES*
