My journey of discovering procreate brushes and effects while doing Dragon Ball fan art continues. Might have gone overboard with the sparkles but it’s just so much fun

Charles Edwards as Celebrimbor & Charlie Vickers as Annatar / Sauron THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER (2022 - ) Season 2, Episode 3: The Eagle and The Sceptre
I’m just gonna say it. I like Rings of Power. And I say this as someone who, 20 years ago, spent a lot of time writing and thinking and talking about the Second Age, so I am deeply aware of every change.
But!!! Watching Sauron seduce and gaslight Celebrimbor into creating the rings?! Chef’s kiss!! Proto-hobbits? Love it! Khazad-dûm at its height? Makes me feral. Gil-galad! Círdan! An elf corrupted by Melkor! Númenor! For everything they choose to change (and they do choose it,) they leave a thousand Easter-eggs for old Tolkien nerds like me, and I’m here for it.
I love a movie of just listening to hugh grant pronounce words
@flippyspoon care to confirm or deny?
heretic was fun! but he does more than pronounce words. there is also pie.
SAURON/HALBRAND appreciation 03/∞ S2E1 "Elven Kings Under the Sky"
One more try to draw something with colored pencils. I found out that elves in colored pencils look extra kitschy.
Absolutely losing it over Vetinari sounding like this as he shoves Moist into a new job title 😂

Capital
😉😘
I don’t think this was actually a deliberate pun (my hand, like Aragorn’s, hovering professionally above this writing to determine Pratchett’s exact state of mind when he wrote this) but it is a very good interjection when discussing how banks work. is what I’m saying.
I think you underestimate the level of craft that he exercised at this point in his career.
The line wasn’t set up perfectly correctly.
“I don’t know how banks work!” -> “Capital!” is the much better setup and sets up the catch-you-on-the-backswing pun
Medieval church door in Gloucestershire believed to be the inspiration for J.R.R. Tolkien’s entrance to Moria
I do need to see a Rings of Power episode with all the actors actual IRL accents. @verecunda
Elrond: Hellur y'alright?
Gil-Galad: I'm swell thanks
The convo between these two would be wild😂
Annatar, supposed emissary of the Valar, emerging from the flames of Celebrimbor's forge: G'day, mate. :)
Then it’s just Charlie E with his regular accent l, at least I can’t hear a difference.
(scary dom voice) call the restaurant, slut. im too shy
Another thing I really liked (and very much appreciated) on The Rings of Power was: Prince Durin and Disa. Like, it's good to see an actually loving long term marriage, where the spouses care for each other. A simple thing, sure, but that's why it was so good.
So... behind the honda odyssey scene....
