just comparing the size of Callum and Ezran's hands and it's making me emotional
Damn, YA lit and fictional drama involving children and teens really hits different when you go back to it as an adult. I just finished watching AtLA and reread a couple of the Percy Jackson books this weekend and I lost count of how many times I said "they're just babies" or "God, they're just so young" to myself while I was doing it. Like, I've always liked these characters but looking back at them I love them so much more and have such a better idea of how tragic their situations are and the lessons feel so much more meaningful and better done now that I can appreciate them with this extra layer. It's just. It's so different. There's this dissonance between how I remember seeing it ten years ago and how I see it now and I look forward to seeing how I see it differently ten years from now.
