Two blades...
Did you know Jade experienced what it's like to be a demon
Um... no
No, I didn't...
...
Yeah.
I would have needed to go down to hell to become a full demon.
That's...
Hm...
I'm not sure how to feel about that.

Umm...
It wasn't the grey faces actually...
It wasn't...?
Then...
It's.. uh..
Kinda complicated to explain??
Or just a lot?
So you became a demon...
...temporarily?

Do you like picnics?
I haven't been on one in a while. Seems like a nice idea, though.
Her eyes light up a little.
"Oh? What did you have in mind?"
She takes a few sips of her own sangria. "I'm really glad you made this. It's really good."
He chuckled, blushing a bit as he looked at the pitcher. "It's a simple recipe I stumbled upon. Simple enough, anyway..."
He took a breath and sighed. "Well, there's the outlandish and the... slightly more outlandish. I could either... help you get rid of Lilith in my own special way...
... or, I could perform some Time shenanigans to give you more time to spend here."
She looks a little confused. "What do you mean help me get rid of her? I'm still terrified of her and I hate that I am. It's not as bad as it used to be but I still panic internally when she starts bothering me. I'm not strong enough to actually go against her either, not as a human anyway."
"I really wouldn't mind getting to spend some more time with you. I'm sure everything and everyone will be okay with me gone for a little bit. Although I do feel guilty for needing a break.."
"Well, I am a..." He trailed off as she went on for a short bit about how she was terrified of facing her, much less fighting her. He'd file that notion away for later, then. Perhaps another Time.
"You shouldn't need to feel guilty for wanting to take a break. I know how you've been having a few bad days thanks to a few... troublemakers. So, I figured I could help you to be able to spend a few days in paradise. Maybe more..."
DJ would pour himself a half a cup more of the sangria. It was starting to run out at this point...
Jade has been on her way over to DJ's to spend the day with him when she had collapsed outside in front of his house from the pain. Rather than wait for him to start worrying about her and go looking for her, she decides to call him.
It takes several minutes for her to grab her phone out of her back pocket, every movement causing her further pain. She places her phone down on the ground in front of her and presses the speaker option as she makes the call.
"DJ.... I'm outside.. I can't.. I can't get up... My back... It hurts.. Please... Please help me."
Jade shifts enough to take his hands. The effort of moving even that far causes her whole body to shake and she feels incredibly weak.
"I think... I think it's over. My back doesn't hurt anymore..."
His eyes widened as she moved to take his hands again, and even more so when she mentioned her back.
"It... doesn't?"
He slowly reached out further, running his hand over her shoulder gently, afraid he would cause more pain...
"It doesn't hurt. Not like it was."
Some of her muscles feel sore from how tense she had been previously while she was writhing around. The fall certainly hadn't helped either.
His warm hands feel good on her sore, tense muscles. She lets out a soft sigh.
DJ slowly began to gently rub at her shoulders, wondering if it was doing her any good in the state that she was in.
"Then... perhaps it stopped...?"
After a short while, his hands started to move down her arms, slowly and surely.
Mm.
Still feeling it, by the way.
Then again, I did drink the
The whole thing.
Heh.

What is a...
... Poro?

Jade reaches out towards DJ with her free hand. She needs some body to hold onto through all of this, to be her anchor.
"DJ.." His name comes out as a sob.
Fifteen minutes go by before her brain decides that this has been going on for too long and the pain was too much for her to handle. She loses consciousness again, laying completely still on the bed.
He reached out to hold her hand tight as she reached towards him. Hearing her say his name like that felt like his heart was tearing in half...
"Jade...! I'm here, Jade..."
Before he knew it, she became still. It appeared as though the pain had become too much for her to handle once again. He let out a sigh before pulling up a chair and sitting next to her bed, reaching over and holding her hand once more...
"Dammit all..."
Another fifteen minutes go by before she regains consciousness again. She gives his hand a squeeze but otherwise remains still. She feels dizzy and disoriented.
"Hey..."
She's still in agony so she doesn't remain awake for long, her brain shutting her body down again after another five to fifteen minutes. She loses count of how many times this happens and what time of day it is.
"Is it over?" The sun has set completely by the time she comes to again.
DJ had started to drift off by this point, not being able to do much in terms of helping her. His hands were outstretched towards her, holding onto her hand for her to hold if she was awake.
Hearing her speak, his eyes fluttered open after a moment.
"Mm...? Jade...?"

"Yeah. Honestly, I could use some time away and I couldn't think of any other place that I'd rather spend it at. Or anyone else I'd rather be with."
Jade blushes as she finishes speaking.
DJ couldn't help but blush as well, looking back at her as he smiled.
"Well... what if I told you that you could do... just that? Spend some time here to relax, without having to worry about anything?"
Jade smiles back at him and reaches over to take his hand.
"I would really like that. All the fighting and death just gets to be too much after a certain period of time. I'm so tired of all the fighting and I just want the war to be over but it never will be until Lilith is dead.."
He held her hand, smiling to her after she spoke of everything that needed to happen.
"Well... What if I said there was one of a few options of how I could help with you getting some time off, hm?"
After saying this, he had another sip of his sangria...
