Sabbat-day Sigils

You can incorporate them in your Sabbat-day rituals! You can write them on a piece of paper and burn it, carve it into a candle and light it, write it on yourself for a little boost!

You can charge them with crystals, incense smoke, your own personal energy, the sun, the moon, etc.

I figured since Mabon is coming up i would share my sigils 😊

Wicca 101: Ostara

Happy Ostara everyone! Sorry this post was so late. I was busy celebrating.

Today is the Spring Equinox and is a day celebrated by pagans that is known as Ostara, Estra, or Eostra. It was named originally named for a Germanic goddess of spring and the sun. It was a celebration of the knowledge that the animals were giving birth and the warmth was officially back in the land. The days would be getting longer and the nights would be turning warmer.

It was a good thing to be had.

Themes:

Goddess:

The Maiden Goddess has taken to the earth and begun her walk across her lands to awaken the spirit of life within. She blesses the fertile lands and the animals in the hopes that both will be fruitful. As a maiden it is assumed that this is the time when the Lady discovers her own fertility, and begins to accept the God’s attentions.

God:

We’ve talked a lot about the Maiden goddess and what she’s up to this time of year. But as Wiccans worships both god an goddess how does the God fit into this feast? The God of the Forest spends his time tending the animals of the earth and attempting to attract his Maiden Goddess.

Colors:

Red. It is the color of blood and life. While we don’t often sacrifice the first lamb anymore, burying a red egg is an accepted (and less bloody) replacement.

Pastels, especially earthy shades of green or yellow to represent new life returning.

White: There are old rituals that have women in white dresses dancing as the sun rose on Ostara. The why of it has been lost to time though I like to believe they were welcoming the Goddess.

Foods:

If you hold a feast on this day there are certain foods associated with the celebration that you might like to incorporate. Anything with seeds is a smart move. Eggs, lamb, and sweeter wines are also normal. If you’d like any recipes inbox me, I have a collection.

The Ritual:

As we covered in the Imbolc post, before you begin a ritual you must decide upon an intent. For this season suitable intents can be:

*Anything that revolves around Renewal. Your Goals, Friendships, or whatever might fit for you

*Cleansing, and I don’t mean your work space. I mean deep self cleansing, ridding your aura of negative energy and bad thoughts.

*Fertility. While Beltane is the be all end all feast associated with reproduction, Ostara is definitely the beginning of this. If you are a man or woman (or couple!) That hopes for fertility now is the time to ask. However fertility is not limited to humans. If you are attempting to breed an animal

*Seed blessings. If you wish to plant seeds this year, bless them! Ask the lady to breath some life into them.

Now, I’m going to be using a lot of information from the Imbolc post for the ritual below, as the basis for rituals relatively the same.

Now gather up your tools or items for your ritual.

1. Gather ingredients  2. Practice some deep breathing 3. One at a time place ingredients inside the pouch (begin with the salt and rosemary) (Place as many cinnamon sticks in as your like, i just wanted three) 4. Continue deep breathing as you do so  5. When you’re done if you like you can practice some meditation  6. Carry the sachet with you or keep in bedroom

Tell Me Something I Don’t Know: A Tarot Spread for New Insight

Beyond its usefulness as a divination tool, tarot can also be a good way to organize your thoughts and better understand yourself—your subconscious interprets the meaning of the cards according to what you think and feel, and the symbols on the cards give you a way to visualize these thoughts and feelings more objectively, outside of your mind. If I ask the cards a question about myself, a lot of the time they respond by knocking me upside the head and telling me I already know the answer.

Sometimes, though, I’m not looking to the cards for answers about what I feel or for what’s buried in my subconscious. I want new information, knowledge that I can use to improve my life and move forward. For that, I’ve devised this spread, a simple way to learn something new from the cards.

1.      Describes the querent.

2.      A power they don’t realize they have.

3.      A pleasant surprise soon to come into their life.

4.      Something they are doing that they don’t realize is setting them back.

5.      Negative energy or intent that is following them in secret.

When I last read this spread, the Two of Pentacles in position two told me that I’d be coming across an opportunity to combine my interests, furthering both my education and my career, and I was recently offered an internship in the field I want to find a job in once I graduate!

Hi sweeties! A new jar for you today!

Trouble focusing and concentrating/channeling extra energy into positive, useful ways is not a new struggle in my household. This jar was a request, but also something I found to be useful for people in my own home, so it was a joy to make, filled with love!

Let’s start!

With each added ingredient, focus that intent and love into each of your layers. The magic is in you and your intent, so don’t be afraid to spend time on each layer! Once you are finished, you can cork up your bottle and speak your intent into the whole bottle, definitely spend time concentrating and focusing while doing this, as it is the purpose of the bottle, infuse it with these things!

While doing so, you can repeat to yourself–

“Peace will come, focus will stay. My energy will be used in a productive way.”

After you are finished, you can seal up your bottle with wax, I have a tutorial for this here.

Summer Solstice is celebrated on the longest day and shortest night of the year. It is the beginning of summer and from now on the nights will begin to get longer.

🌞There are many activities you can do to celebrate the summer solstice or if you celebrate the sabbats its known as Litha🌻 Here are some ideas:

☀️ - Spend time outdoors if possible, its good to take a walk and make the most of the daylight.🌤

🌞 - Redecorate your altar, fill it with summer flowers, brighter colours etc 🌹🌻

☀️ - Light some candles throughout the day and night. Again use bright colours such as yellows and oranges.

🌞 - Make a solstice meal or feast. Here are some foods associated with the sabbat.

- Sweet Potatoes 🥔

- Spiced Cakes 🍰

- Ice cream 🍦

- Spicy food 🌶

- Honey or maple syrup related snacks 🍯

☀️ - Relevent crystals to use and work with at this time are,

Charge this sigil in moonlight, or underneath a light blue / lilac candle; amethyst crystals will help boost its energies. Optimally, sew this on your pillow case, or on the tag for the pillow case; otherwise, it can be slipped inside the pillow case before you go to bed. Add it to a dream pillow filled with lavender, chamomile, and catnip for boosted effects.
