Glyn Johns, 'Like Grains of Yellow Sand' (1967)
In 1967, Glyn Johns unexpectedly became a big star in Spain for a few days following the release of his cover of the Rolling Stones' song "Lady Jane," which featured Brian Jones on sitar.
After the fast success of this single, Glyn appeared in two popular music magazine covers and was asked to perform "Lady Jane" on Spanish television. He was also given a small record deal with Sono Play, a Spanish record label.
For this record, Glyn wrote and released two original songs with his longtime songwriting partner and friend Hugh Oliver, featuring future Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. These were "Like Grains of Yellow Sand" and "Little Child," which unfortunately didn't do quite as well as "Lady Jane" had.

TRANSLATION OF BACK COVER:
GLYN JOHNS
GLYN JOHNS returns to the Spanish discography, which he had an extraordinary success with a few months ago with his "Lady Jane." He also returns with two songs that once again show his great style as a composer and performer. Both "LIKE GRAINS OF YELLOW SAND" and "LITTLE CHILD" are totally "in" songs, that we could place in the romantic and soft line that define the "hippy" movement, supported by all musical youth.
45 RPM: It's a high fidelity recording.
Side A: "LIKE GRAINS OF YELLOW SAND" (G. Johns - H. Oliver), 2:40.
Side B: "LITTLE CHILD" (G. Johns - H. Oliver), 2:30.
