7 Ways to Live a More Magical Life

“Use symbols wisely. Decorate your home with colors that make you feel energized. Hang a crystal in your car. Get a tattoo that reminds you of a positive lesson or experience. Put trinkets from loved ones on your desk. Buy t-shirts with inspiring sayings. Drink your morning tea out of a happy mug. Make your computer background a forest. Consider the impact of your words. Write often. Keep your promises.

Don’t forget to breathe. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Start your Saturday with yoga. Take ten minutes every morning for meditation. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. When you’re angry or sad or just tired, take a deep breath. Rest your head on someone else’s chest and match your breathing to theirs. Use essential oils. On a cold day, stop to watch the exhalation of warm air leave your mouth. Never forget that it is required. Take too little of it, breathe too shallowly, and your spirit will suffer.

Your body is a temple – decorate it. Wear jewelry that reminds you of a special moment or a special person or just makes you feel special. Dye your hair purple or chop it off. Use fancy lotion. Exercise often, but don’t ever feel anything except proud of your breasts or your stomach or your arms. Dress the way that you want to feel. Never let someone else dictate the way you look. Try a top you’d swear you’d never wear. Try a cat eye. Try a bold red lip. Wear heels that make you feel like a sex goddess. Wear bangles that make music when you walk.

Create a safe and sacred space. Keep your kitchen clean. Surround yourself with pets and flowers. Drink wine and make art for the walls. Always have music playing. Fill it with people who make you a better person. Don’t allow negativity to cross the threshold. Burn incense and light candles and smudge sage. Keep the curtains open. Touch every object in the house and only keep the ones that lift your spirits. Sleep with lavender under your pillow. Always have a full bookshelf.

Get sunlight (or moonlight) and fresh air every day. Drive with your windows down. Sit outside and read a book. Walk to the coffee shop or the grocery store or a friend’s house. Have a picnic in the park. Fully appreciate the way your hair whips around you on a windy day. Lie in the grass and close your eyes and think about how every little plant is alive just like you are. Stop to appreciate a full moon. Buy fresh vegetables at the farmer’s market. In the summer go camping and in the winter walk in the rain. Climb a tree. Grow an herb garden.

Live positivity. Give someone a compliment. Make eye contact. Send a text just to say you’re thinking of them. Stop and close your eyes – say a quick thank you for your blessings. Recycle, compost, and turn off the lights. Treat a loved one to dinner. Trade your friends a massage. Put money in an expired meter. Forgive quickly, kiss slowly. Laugh often. Good karma comes back. Whatever you do will be returned three times as strong.

Incorporate magic into every day activities. Sweep your floor and visualize brushing out the negative energy. Bake cookies to feed loved ones and imbue them with positive vibes. Christen a new home with a potted plant. Wash off the day with a bubble bath. Don’t let others jealousy or insecurities or anger ever affect your spirit. Use herb lore to select your tea. Use color magic to pick your nail polish shade. Use tarot cards to help you better understand yourself. Eat consciously.”

Witchcraft is…
  • Listening to chants and witchy music while studying schoolwork
  • Watering your plants while telling them or singing to them how beautiful they are
  • Placing crystals in your garden to help your plant babies be happy
  • Drinking mundane tea and making it magick
  • Recycling whatever you can to become part of your craft
  • Seeing the message the butterfly or animal gives when they pass you by
  • Writing sigils and symbols in your shower for a cleanse and all good things
  • Giving your loved ones protection charms
  • Taking care of all the stray animals in your neighborhood
  • Sending loving energy to your friends and anyone who needs it
  • Listening to the wind and feeling the earth under your feet
  • Gazing up at the stars
  • Picking up trash in the woods for the environment
  • Leaving pretzels or other snacks for the birds in the parking lot
  • Singing or dancing to uplift spirits
  • Seeing everyone and everything as connected

It’s important to know witchcraft is more than dancing in circles while chanting with a coven, it’s so much more than having your entire home covered in crystals, herbs and other things. Witchcraft is something that happens every moment, every day. Even when some don’t know they are doing it.

Grooming habits and witchcraft

By grooming, I mostly mean bathing, your skincare routine, and your make up routine. In my opinion, bathing and skincare should be done every day, for both hygiene reasons, but more importantly, mental health reasons. Having something to do regularly in a ritualistic way is definitely very helpful to my mental health. I personally don’t live in a place where make up is common, and am also too lazy to put on make up, but if you are someone who enjoys it, it is also a good way to prepare for the day.

Daily Witchiness

This is for all the witches who don’t feel like they are doing enough. You don’t need to enchant things, cast spells all the time, or write sigils everywhere to be doing witchy stuff! You are witching all over the place! You got witch everywhere!

  • Jewelry: this is the easiest witchy thing to do, in my opinion, because it’s so low energy. You can wear different crystals and minerals, seashells, pentacles, crosses, or other symbols pertaining to your beliefs. Pendants, bracelets, or rings are usually the most popular way. Whether you enchant them or not is up to you. I’ll set my bracelets and mala beads in full moonlight but I haven’t gotten around to enchanting anything yet. I do wear certain gems to correspond to my needs. If you study palmistry, you’ll know that wearing certain rings on certain fingers work with different energies. There is so much to this category.
  • Stirring anything: your food when cooking, the cereal in your bowl, your coffee/tea, the straw in your cocktail, the direction of your stirring is either conjuring up happiness and health (clockwise), or you’re banishing negativity (counterclockwise). Focus on your stirring and set some intentions for the day. Depending on your drink and if you chant a few words, it could turn into a spell 😉
  • Tea Drinking: I love a hot tea in the evening. Some witches correspond different herb and flavors to their needs. Some like to drink kombucha throughout the day. Some make sun tea. There are so many ways you can direct your energy with tea. Not to mention teas helpful for divination, and tasseography (divination through tea leaf readings).
  • Aromatherapy: Whether with fresh flowers and herbs, incense, candles, or an essential oil diffuser, it’s not that hard to enjoy some daily aromatherapy. You will experience benefits that include reducing anxiety, easing depression, boosting energy levels, speeding up the healing process, eliminating headaches, boosting cognitive performance, inducing sleep, strengthening the immune system, reducing pain, improving digestion, or increasing circulation. To pair aromatherapy with your jewelry, you can get a pendant oil diffuser or a bracelet with some lava beads to hold some skin safe essential oils.
  • Walking barefoot: Earthing/Grounding connects you to the earth’s free flowing electrons. I am unable to do this because I live in the city and there is too much broken glasses and the danger of needles. But when I go camping, I definitely run around barefoot like I did growing up on the farm. It’s so energizing!
  • Humming: “Humming combined with breath is a powerful way to release and let go of stuck energy and tension.  Great for clearing and refreshing your throat chakra” It also improves your sinus health! Humming slows down your breathing rate significantly.  Research shows, we normally breathe 15-17 times in a minute but with humming you can bring it down to 4-6 a minute which helps to slow down your heart rate and brings down your stress level. I like to hum when I’m cooking, driving, and I’ll hum along to the music at work. I tend to just hum the base notes so they are long, in rhythm, and in harmony with the tune. Lots of witches will hum during circle casting or while in the kitchen to help raise the energies.
  • Anything involving nature: going on a walk, watering your plants, stopping to admire some flowers, hanging out with animals, watching the sunset/sunrise, stargazing, etc. are all witchy and connecting yourself to Mother Gaia and/or the Cosmos.
  • Listening to Music: It’s part of the Quadrivial Arts, the Crossroads, the very core from which all paths of knowledge cross.
  • Working with numbers: Numbers and geometry are also part of the Quadrivial Arts, so whether you are an accountant, a cashier, or just doing your homework, you are doing some witchy stuff.
  • Your daily horoscope: Astrology is the fourth part of the Crossroads of the Quadrivial Arts. All four are the basis of the skeleton key to unlocking all spell craft. But checking in to your personal journey in the cosmos is a helpful guide along your journey through the universe.
  • Checking the weather: yes, it’s witchy. Knowing what is going on with the climate around you is an act of attunement to nature. And then you know how to coordinate your witchy outfit for the day.

Morning Routine for a Busy Witch

A lot of people have asked me for tips on how to incorporate witchcraft into daily life. How you incorporate it depends on your schedule, your habits, and your tools on hand. However, I’ll list my ideal morning routine in order to give you some ideas.

  • After I wake up, I add some cinnamon to the coffee grounds before brewing*. Cinnamon increases luck and energy, so I like starting off my day with that little boost.
  • *The reason I add cinnamon to the grounds and not the finished coffee is because powdered cinnamon can’t actually dissolve; it’ll just sink or sit at the top. By adding cinnamon to the grounds, you’re able to infuse the cinnamon into the flavor and charge the spell. .
  • If you don’t drink coffee, you may want to brew some tea.
  • Black tea (like most chais, earl grey and breakfast teas) aid alertness and energy, their caffeine helping to dispel negative premonitions of the day.
  • Green tea (like jasmine, senchas, and matcha) can help detoxify your energy and clear your conscious mind.
  • White and herbal teas help with clarity, serenity and wisdom (though this largely depends on the ingredients in the tea).
  • If you don’t want coffee or tea, drink some lemon water. The water will hydrate you, and the lemon will cleanse your energy and invigorate you.
  • For an easy boost, place a crystal next to your coffee pot, tea pot or cup to charge the drink.
  • Clear quartz boosts clarity.
  • Rose quartz increases chance of love and attractiveness.
  • Obsidian, bloodstone and onyx stabilize and ground you.
  • Opal and lapis intensify awareness and spiritual powers.
  • Tiger’s eye increases courage.
  • I won’t list all crystals here because that would take forever, but those are a couple ideas.
  • While the drinks are brewing/charging, I take some time to ground. I like to do yoga, but some people will meditate during this time, or practice energy techniques. You only have to do this for as long as the drink is charging (so like literally five minutes, trust me it makes a difference).
  • If you eat breakfast, give a piece of your breakfast as an offering. If you don’t, give some of the drink you made as an offering. I’m the kind of person who works with multiple deities and spirits at a time, so I like to give an offering to one of them and then rotate. This helps mindset and motivation, because if you have low spoons or a down day, at least you’ve completed something.
  • While you’re getting dressed/doing makeup, light a candle. I like to start my day off with a little light; it acts as a positive omen and can wake you up more.
  • Candle color ideas: white (purity and beginnings); red (courage and strength); green (healing, luck and prosperity); blue (calming and spiritual awareness); purple (psychic powers and control); yellow (positivity and attractiveness); pink (beauty, serenity and positivity); orange (stimulation and energy).
  • Scent ideas for the candle: floral (healing and cheeriness); citrus (purity, energy, and focus); sweet (happiness, kindness and patience); spicy (passion, motivation and magic); subtle (grounding and calm).
  • Do your makeup in the morning? I recommend placing some sea glass or rose quartz next to your makeup supplies as you use them. It’s a simple tactic that’ll really up your look for the day.

This morning routine takes about twenty minutes, and includes six witchcraft spells. That’s a lot of productivity that’ll help wake you up and motivate you for the day!

Other ideas that I don’t personally do, but others do:

  • Turn your morning shower into a cleansing ritual not that i don’t take showers, I just don’t take them in the morning.
  • Color-coordinate your outfit for your day’s intent.
  • or your makeup/accessories
  • Make some fruit-infused water to carry with you throughout the day for an energy boost.
  • Carry an appropriate crystal in your pocket to help calm, stabilize or motivate you.
  • Add an herb to your eggs (or other breakfast food) that’ll help your intent for the day
  • Say a prayer while you’re still in bed, before you get up in the morning. That’ll count as a simple offering.

Feel free to add some more ideas, especially for the late-sleepers and spoonie witches out there! Have a beautiful morning (ᗒᗨᗕ) /

Cinnamon Toast Magick!

So I came up with this little spell idea this morning as my mom made cinnamon toast for breakfast. This recipe is known by a lot of people, but it so happens to be passed down to our family by my mom’s godmother.

So! To start you need: -bread (white bread works best but use what you want) - cinnamon -brown sugar - butter - nutmeg is optional (this is my little add on hehe) -rose quartz or clear quartz

So first of all I’d say have your quartz with you either on the counter or if you’re in the broom closet, like me, keep it in your pocket. It’s for helping you focus the energy into your dish

Now! This spell is for sweeting up a friendship or relationship and you can do it 2 ways and it all had to deal with the bread. The bread is your foundation, if you want your friendship/relationship to stablize or be more firm toast your bread first. If you want to soften up your friend or partner bc they’re being too distant or tough don’t toast your bread. And of course make sure you focus on your intent through this entire cooking process! :)

Next! Butter your bread, you could always make it in the shape of a sigil too for bonus action, the oven heat will activate it. The after your butter has been spread it’s time to add the cinnamon. This gives your spell a little extra kick and brings in prosperity. If it’s a romantic relationship perhaps even some more spicy love too. Lastly, add your brown sugar! Add as much as you like or as sweet as you’d like to make the recipient.

Then pop in the oven on a baking sheet at 400 degrees ferinheit (or however you spell it -.-) and cook until the sugar melts up a good bit. (Warning!!!! Soft bread will try to fall apart upon removal so be careful!) Remove from oven, let cool a little and serve! Don’t forget to have a slice yourself! It takes 2 to tango after all! Add nutmeg for extra something something to your spell if you want too! It’s also really good on the toast!

Spells - to - Go (Bottle Cap Spells)

Bottle cap spells are an easy way to keep spells with you while you’re on the go and super simple to make! Plus, recycling! (Always a bonus.)

What you need:

  • candle
  • bottle caps
  • a safe surface
  • herbs (optional)
  • small crystals (optional)
  • oils (optional)

How to make them:

  1. To begin, you will need to start melting a candle of whichever colour you would like to use for your spell. While this is occurring, charge the melting wax and any herbs or crystals with your intent.
  2. Once you have a sufficient amount of melted wax, blow out your candle and begin to pour it into the bottle cap(s). Fill it however full you wish to. Remember to be very careful as the wax is hot!
  3. If you have any herbs or crystals that you wish to add, do so before the wax completely sets. Add more wax on top if you would like to.
  4. After everything is set, put any oil you would like on top of the wax!

Ta-da! You now have your very own pocket spell!

A witchy reminder

Doing frivolous magic keeps you in shape for doing important magic.

*boredly makes energy balls nyoom around the room all the time*

*inhaling energy particles to feel your throat tickle like the bubbles in soda*

Would love some examples/ideas…

Well… There were 2 examples right there… But also: small glamours extra energy boosts in coffee whipping up tiny bursts of breeze on still days pretty much anything else that’s just for fun

  • Randomly charging items around the house for specific purposes such as protection, luck, tranquility, strength.
  • Charging and un-charging things while you sit around.
  • It’s so important to have practice un-charging, de-charging, or blowing energy off/out of objects and spaces. I think people really don’t understand how sometimes what a situation needs is the absence of energy and not more energy … hmm. post …
  • Throwing in a little magic into your microwave snack, attempting to use the numbers for correspondence.
  • Attempting to discover new methods of divination while riding the bus.
  • Thinking up tiny incantations for random reasons … like getting stop lights to change or finding a good parking spot.
  • Dream magic-ing just because
  • Playing card games with friends and attempting to battle luck. <– My family does this a lot.
  • Attempting to see beyond the veil while chilling in a waiting room. (If you’re not easily creeped out/squeamish).

You can also make yourself a chore list. I keep a maintenance chore list for wards, upcoming social obligations, work and career issues, family maintenance.

I do a lot of aura work just for kicks.

Most people are not keen on doing magic on/for other people. I’m … not one of those folks. But, 80% of the energy around you is people when you’re in a congested place. Sometimes I will try to get people to remember something they forgot and get out of the grocery line. I pay for it by forgetting to get something myself. I try to get babies to stop crying or anxious folks to calm down (mostly out of self defense. They make me anxious). Use your own moral code on that one.

I hope that helps. There’s a whole world of magic that can be done and almost none of it has to actually serve a purpose. But when it comes time to do magic with a purpose it’ll be easier and pack more of a punch, because you’ll know your gauge.

This is super helpful. By “battle luck” do you mean pulling luck to be on your side when it wasn’t? I’m slightly confused and always curious

Battling luck is when you get a bunch of people together who know how much their personal luck weighs and you play a game of chance and probability to see if you can out-luck the other people. It’s an exercise to see if you can increase your luck on the fly, or de-stabilize someone else’s luck on the fly. Sometimes we would do pre-game rituals to increase our luck and then have at it.

It, like everything, is just an exercise. It allows you to know yourself and your abilities a little better.

I call stuff like this ‘Magickal busywork’ as a kind of joke.

I’m fascinated - I saw this a few minutes ago but I keep hearing these words, what does it mean to see beyond the veil?

Ah. So, some folks don’t have the veil – or what I’ve been taught to call the separation between this plane and the spirit/other planes. Some folks just see the two (or more) planes at once. Others, (read: most) don’t. They will see the “world of the living” and that’s all they see. I sometimes will sit and try to scry pass this plane and peek into the next to see who/what is walking around. I’m nosy like that. Often, around this time of year, you will hear folks talk about how the veil is thin or thinning. I’ve never really noticed a difference as far as the calendar is concerned. I have noticed when the veil is thin, but it hasn’t been tied to a specific time … more to a specific space or it happens at a seemingly random time. In short, it’s peeking around the life curtain to see what’s dwelling on the other side.

So it’s like a peek into the otherside, rather than a dive - I like this, sort of like having a tether?

Witchy Period Hacks

Hello loves! I’ve put together a small list of witchy things to do when that time of the month is coming around!

1.)This sigil for period cramps

2.)This tea or any similar to it! Or just tea in general! Tea is amazing!

3.)Charm your makeup with a confidence booster before you put it on. Sometimes we can get a little low on ourselves when our hormones are all messed up.

4.)Get some sun. Not only is sun great for your skin, it gives you amazing vitamins and increases the hormones in your body that make you happy.

5.)This spell to banish period cramps

6.)Check out these crystals that can help with cramps. (mind which crystals are toxic in certain conditions)

7.)Write in your grimoire! Doing this always boosts my mood.

8.)Look for self love spells and such. Here is a link to my tag of self love spells.

Feel free to add more to these if you wish!

Witch Tips for City Witches

City Witch Tips for all of my fellow witches stuck in apartments, dorms or other city areas.

  • If you can’t burn incense you can make your own sprayable incense by mixing alcohol (usually vodka or rubbing) with essential oils and a bit of oil, spray in the air to act like incense
  • If you are unable to go outside for whatever reason to get rain water (in my case just no where to collect it safely), fill a jar or glass with regular water and keep it near a cracked window to charge it with the wind, sound and scent of the rain outside. Same goes for storm water
  • Trapped in city and unable to get ocean water? Sea salt mixed with rain/storm water can be an excellent substitute
  • To continue on with water substitutes, if you can’t collect snow crushed ice from your fridge will suffice
  • Low key warding/protection you can use: spray moon water, salt water or sprayable incense about your apartment or dorm, place sigils under doormats, furniture, inside cupboards, etc; place crystals about hidden or out in the open, sweep and dust out the door or towards windows
  • If you need melted wax to seal a jar or for any other magical purpose, but can’t burn candles, by a wax melter and melt that wax and imagine the light from the burner acting like a flame (plus they are rather cheap, I got mine for 25 bucks)
  • Need stars in your craft but too much light pollution? Glow in the dark stars on your ceiling or wall can work just as well for visualization. Print out pictures of your favorite constellations or planets and place them up on your walls or on your altar. Live video feed of the night sky can also be easily found on the internet
  • Bath magic is amazing for low-key ‘in the woods’ witches. Use teas, milk, oils, herbs, bath bombs, bubble baths, salts, etc that relate to your intent. It is also a good place to meditate if you have roommates or family around that would disturb you otherwise
  • If you do for whatever reason need to burn a candle, birthday candles are small, melt fast, and don’t create a lot of smoke or smokey scent
  • Sigils are another great low-key form of magic. To boost them up, use color magic related to the color you draw them in, write them using quills made of feathers related to your intent, use colored paper, rub a drop of essential oil on them, charge them with crystals or in your windowsill
  • You don’t have to burn sigils to activate them, which is hardly an option when you are in a dorm or apartment. Other options are: Shredding them, erasing them, soaking them in a bath or shower, using body heat or your own pulse, etc
  • Miss having the outdoors and plants around? Windowsill gardens can really help. Small plants you can consider keeping in your windowsill or counter-tops: succulents, cacti, bamboo, lemongrass, basic, rosemary, mint, rosemary, mosses, aloe, snake plant, pothos (and other vines), carrots, beets, shallots, lettuce, spinach, garlic, chives, parsley, oregano, thyme, and marigold
  • Open your window to let the wind and air from outside to help energize you and clear out negative energies inside
  • Fun places to put sigils: under furniture, carved into soap, onto shampoo/conditioner bottles, on your make up, inside phone cases, in shoes, under bandages, sewn into pillow cases and blankets, behind pictures in frames, underside of nail polish, carved into wax squares for your wax melter, keys and keychains, behind mirrors or in medicine cabinets, on bookmarks, on or in binders and pencil cases, on medicine bottles, and water bottles/travel mugs
  • Easy to make and dispose of poppets: carrot sticks (one of my personal favorites), apples or other fruit, clothe, paper, popsicle sticks, paper towels/napkins, toilet paper rolls, eggs, celery stocks, and cotton balls
  • The internet is an amazing thing. Need some sounds to help you focus or meditate? Easily look up the sounds of rain, storms, wind, ocean waves, jungles, forests, etc
  • Christmas lights are fun and great way to use discrete witchcraft. Select ones in the colors you wish for them to bring ie green for growth, yellow for inspiration, white for protection, purple for psychic abilities, etc.
  • Some everyday things you can use for discrete witchcraft that don’t cost much at all or that you most likely already have: water, table salt, black pepper, paper, crayons/pencils/pens/markers, vinegar, milk, tea, highlighters, make up and beauty supplies, shampoo and conditioner, rubber bands, paperclips, thumbtacks, computer/phone/tablet, music/music player, playing cards, dice, air freshener, perfumes, toothpaste, rice, flour, sugar, honey, and all kitchen herbs and seasonings.
  • Can’t afford gemstones or crystals on college budget? Crackle and dyed quartz you can find super cheap at craftstores and online. I bought a whole bag for 4 bucks. Use them based on their colors and shapes. Can’t afford that but still want to use rocks in your craft? Find some rocks you like outside, again use their colors and shapes to determine their correspondences. Want to use them for a specific purpose? Paint sigils on them in the color that corresponds with what you want! Charge them in your windowsill or with your own energy and intent. There you go!
  • Pocket mirrors are cheap, easy to carry around and great for glamours and on the go magic.
  • Seriously though, glamour spells are going to be a good option for you. use your make up, skin products, hair care products, brushes/combs, perfume, mirrors, toothbrush/toothepaste and intent. Good to do while you are getting ready for your day
  • Dream magic is another friend of the city witch! Use crystals, sigils, herbs, etc near your bed before you go to sleep, drink some chamomile, get yourself a dream journal (mine is literally a notebook with construction paper on it), keep it and a pen near you. In the morning write down your dreams, your thoughts, how you feel (tired, refreshed, groggy, etc), and interpret them.
  • Can’t afford tarot cards? Print out some, you can usually find them online and they won’t last as long as a real deck but it is a good temporary solution. Want a Ouija board but can’t keep one or need it to be easily hidden? Print one out, draw on one on paper or cardboard, fold it up and store it once you are done. Want a pendulum but can’t afford one? Use your favorite necklace, bracelet or keychain!
  • Tea and coffee magic is great, make your own tea blends with the herbs you like. Or just buy simple green or black tea and add sugar, milk, etc depending on your intentions
  • As I said before, crock pot magic. The Modern Cauldron: brew and cook all day with it, fill your apartment with the scent of the herbs and food to fill it with the energies they correspond with and you get a delicious meal to come home to! Most dorms allow them. Rice cookers also work well.
  • Can’t afford fresh food? Have to survive on ramen, canned soup, and microwaved meals? That is okay! They even correspond with things! Tomato soup for love, beauty and passion. Beef ramen noodles for strength, courage and longevity. Microwave mac n cheese for beauty and feminity. Look at their ingredients and what they correspond with. Sure its not as glamorous as a making a huge made by scratch traditional meal but its kitchen magic none the less. Stir it with your intent while you cook. It isn’t fancy but it works just as well!
  • Use a notebook or binder for a nice grimoire, decorate it as much as you want on the inside. Print out pictures of nature, animals, planets, stars, places, crystals, etc that you cant’ access/afford and use them in your craft. Spell books and grimoires are powerful tools
  • Don’t have a wand? Use a wooden spoon. Tie a colored string or ribbon to it to correspond with what energy you want it to have and move and flick it as you would a wand.
  • Knitting, crocheting, and knot magic is very apartment friendly. As well as sewing and embroidering plus it is super calming.
  • Glitter, sequins, and beads are great in witchcraft! Use their colors to determine their correspondences. Put them in spell jars, sachets, bottles, etc. Glitter tip: if you spill any don’t fret, get some packing tape, wrap it around your hand with the sticky part outwards and dab at that glitter spill. You will literally pick up all of the glitter in seconds!
  • Enchant and charge your pots, pans, skillets, and other cookware to make every meal magical
  • Make moonwater in your windowsills. Use it for cleansing, beauty, divination, clarity, protection and purification
  • Take walks. Even if it is a city there is still nature about. Pigeons flying about, potted flowers outside of stores, grass growing in front lawns, etc. Enjoy yourself, even if it is not some wild, vast forest you can still connect with your local nature.
  • Pick up litter or garbage you see outside, being in the city we all see it. The natural world around you will appreciate you helping out. Bring a bag with you when you take your walks or travel and fill it with wrappers you see on the ground.

I hope this was helpful to all of my fellow city and dorm witches!

Self Care Magic

✨Drinking iced raspberry tea infused with rose petals, or a pumpkin spice latte for the cinnamon allspice and clove but also just because you really like it

✨Power songs played during the morning commute and singing as loud as you can without worrying about other drivers seeing you, getting yourself fired up for the day

✨Banishing spells cast on toxic lovers and friends, because even though it hurts to let them go it also feels freeing as hell

✨Self cleansing rituals that make you feel recharged, whether it be fancy ritual baths, or that good smelling face wash that you use every morning

✨Wrapping yourself in the love of friends and family deity when you’re not feeling up to it yourself, they will love you no matter what so relying on them is okay and good

✨Going to a secret spot to be alone, or to watch the world go by and just be still, from a secret pond miles into the forest, to the quiet spot by the window in your favorite cafe

✨Protection spells cast before going out drinking and dancing to keep off the creeps and their unwanted advances, because you just wanna dance and that’s the last thing you need

Passive Magick [Part 2]

Passive magick generally relies on using the innate properties of an item without having to charge it first, although you can still charge and program them if you wish.

Household items that can be used for magick:

  • Cleaning supplies
  • Candles
  • Incense
  • Wax melts & wax warmers
  • Essential oils
  • Food items
  • herbs
  • spices
  • tea bags
  • coffee
  • Bath items
  • Soap
  • Body wash
  • Shampoo & conditioner
  • Cosmetics

Acts of passive magick:

  • Cleaning supplies
  • If your cleaning agent is scented, use the properties of that scent to match your intent
  • Visualize yourself dispelling negative energy while physically cleaning your space
  • i.e. mopping, vacuuming, washing dishes, etc.
  • Candles, Incense, and Wax Melts
  • Light a different colored/scented candle in various rooms to invite a particular energy into that space (i.e. a purple lavender scented candle in the living room for relaxation, a green basil scented candle in the kitchen for prosperity, etc.)
  • Place a crystal of corresponding intent in the candle for an added boost
  • The same applies for incense and wax melts - use different scents that correspond to your intent at the moment
  • Essential oils
  • Mix 1 or 2 cups of tap water and 50 drops of the essential oil of your choice and boil on the stove to fill your home with the scent
  • Add a few drops of essential oil to a wax warmer for a more subtle scent
  • Combine distilled water and white vinegar (equal parts; 1:1) with 30 drops of essential oil to make a scented cleaning agent
  • Food items
  • When cooking, figure out the correspondences for the ingredients you are using and add them to the mix with intent
  • Draw sigils in the bottom of a pan with whatever cooking oil you prefer
  • Stir your tea or coffee in a clockwise or counterclockwise motion, depending on your intent for the day
  • Use the contents of a tea bag for spell jars and sachets
  • Use spice and herb mixes meant for cooking as multipurpose spell ingredients
  • Bath items
  • Find out the correspondences for the ingredients in things like soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner and use those for some quick bath magick
  • If you shower in the morning, use a scent or mix of ingredients that correspond to energy and vitality
  • If you shower in the evening, visualize yourself dispelling the negative and stressful energy of the day while cleaning yourself
  • Make bath salts using epsom salt, essential oils, and dried herbs - store these in a sealed container for later use
  • Use facial scrubs for glamours that involve changing the perception of yourself to those around you
  • Cosmetics
  • Enchant your favorite perfume with intent
  • Place a crystal on top of the cap or near the bottle to keep it charged
  • Make your own roll-on perfume using a carrier oil, 30-40 drops of an essential oil that matches your intent, and gem chips to keep it charged
  • Enchant hair products for healthy hair
  • Anoint the outside of your makeup containers or compact mirrors with moon water for on the go glamour magick
  • Other
  • Add a few drops of moon water or lavender essential oil to the washer for relaxation and peace
  • If you happen to be washing bedsheets, use this method for peaceful sleep
  • Wear crystal jewelry for its innate properties (i.e. rose quartz for love, amethyst for peace, hematite for grounding, etc.)
