Here’s to my family’s annual christmas eve tradition of exchanging new pajamas, & to my mother’s parallel tradition of attempting to shame me every year by making into a t-shirt, quote, “The most egregious thing that you, my daughter , thought it was okay to say during a nice family dinner” . This apparently was my worst offence of 2021

I doodled a frog made of hearts for a Valentine and thought it would make a cute T-shirt print.

Draal-oween Day 31: “In Costume”!

This is a joke based on a cartoon I saw as a kid, called The Weekenders. In one episode, two of the four main characters get invited to a party and are told it’s a costume party. Since it’s not around Halloween, they scramble to try and create costumes, and end up with a bunch of costume-ish elements that don’t really go together, leading to this exchange: 

“What are you gonna say when people ask what you’re supposed to be?”

“I’m supposed to be … in costume.”

(Sadly, it turned out it was never a costume party, just a mean prank by the host to see if those two would believe it.) 

(There’s also a funny scene in a costume shop earlier in the episode, where the proprietor keeps pushing the combo, “A breastplate and a feather boa!”, because “You don’t have anything else, do you?” “… I have my dignity.”)

to thousands of people making phony images and replying to them with their passionate desire to have them as a tshirt to overload the bots with nonsense and junk and send out warnings to shoppers like this:

and now we even have people replying to pictures of baby yoda with “i want this on a tshirt” knowing how ravenous disney is being with copyright in hopes to get the stores taken down altogether

i dont know what it is about stuff like this and the whole turn mei into a symbol of hk protesters thing but, its really reassuring for some reason

Back when @tunafishprincess posted Midnight Men, I joked Atlas needed a T-shirt reading “Will Fight Evil For Food”. 

For those unfamiliar with it, Midnight Men is part of a Trollhunters fanfiction series called Love In Strange Places. 

Jim is human-Changeling hybrid who was kidnapped by mad scientists as a child. In their efforts to bring his Changeling genes to the fore, they trapped him in part-troll form and traumatized him into amnesia. He was taken in by the Janus Order when they destroyed the facility, and raised by Stricklander, who named him Atlas when he couldn’t recall his original name. 

The series is most famous for its spinoff, Blue Moon Rising, where Atlas becomes the Trollhunter. 

The original Love In Strange Places series has Claire in the role of Trollhunter. She and Atlas begin secretly dating. In Midnight Men, she expresses concern that he has no friends other than her (and Stricklander and Nomura, who “don’t count” because they’re family). Atlas befriends Toby, Eli, and Steve, mostly because Toby and Eli let him mooch their food. That’s what gave me the T-shirt idea. 

He’s definitely enjoying those tacos. (He’s got another one stuffed into his mouth, hence the hamster cheeks.) 

My attempts to give him an oversized T-shirt and baggy pants seems instead to have made him buff. It’s funny, because I had the opposite issue drawing Changeling!Jim from my own fic, where he’s meant to be broader-shouldered in troll form but I drew him about as skinny as he is as a human. 

I, ah … also gave Atlas digitigrade feet, and didn’t realize until after the picture was done that all the other art, including ‘official’ reference drawings, shows him with large but clearly plantigrade feet. Artistic license? You know, looking at the feet I draw, you can tell I grew up watching Gargoyles. I did the same thing to Strickler a while ago.

Hdkwjwvwksbwjekebehhejl!!! Oh my gosh, I love this! He looks so adorable in your style. I like the chair too. The details look great. Oh my gosh, that t-shirt. I might need to incorporate that into BMR. As for “official” that’s merely just my view. I far prefer other’s interpretations of the character. It’s really cool to see how folks picture him. Fun fact, the chair is a simplified version of the chairs in my parents’ kitchen!
