You would be correct in assuming that “true” North AmericanJackalopes, which are similar to Jackrabbits and sport horns like those of a Pronghorn Antelope (hence the name), would not make good pets. They need a great amount of space and can be aggressive. They can be kept in zoos provided they have a large enough enclosure with very high walls, as they can jump to absurd heights.
However, other horned rabbits (also called Jackalopes in North America, which leads to some confusion) have been domesticated and can make good pets, with similar care requirements to non-horned rabbits. They are much smaller than true Jackalopes with branching horns, and more closely related to the European Lepus cornutus or Rasselbock.
Like the domesticated rabbit, the domesticated jackalope should not be kept in small cages, but do well with a converted small room (if kept indoors) or a large outdoor hutch. Special care must be taken that their antlers, though small, are not able to get tangled in anything in their enclosure or in any wire or netting.
How about wolpertingers?
Despite the wings, Wolpertingers and Skvader are still in the same family as Jackalopes and other horned rabbits. Wolpertingers can be aggressive and are still wild animals, though there are instances of tamed Wolpertinger.
There are domesticated strains of Skvader, though they are less common than the domesticated horned rabbit.
Not to get too off-topic, but what would be an appropriate aquarium size for a fur-bearing trout?
Fur-bearing trout are a midsized trout species regularly reaching a foot or so in length and fairly active, so you will need a very large aquarium (at least 300 gallons) to keep them.
You might also need a chiller if you live in a warm climate, as they can overheat easily due to their fur (actually a symbiotic non-photosynthetic algae).

I think I already reblogged this but im gonna do it again because this is a good reminder on how toxic gatekeeping it.
I’m reblogging this for the amount of thought that was put into figuring out the necessary configuration for a mertaur wheelchair.
MMMMM, the LAYERS to this.
She’s technically a monster too. She might not look it at first glance and seems mostly human, but it isn’t deniable even despite her looks compared to the other monsters.
But she realizes that she is still not like the rest of the monsters either and may not have entirely the same experiences as them, which is why she feels that she might not belong to or deserve to go to the support group. By sometimes passing as human, she feels she isn’t worthy of the space.
The sad reality though is even though she’s mostly human in appearance, that tail she has undeniably would still cause her some struggle. Humans are still gonna look at that tail and think she’s a freak. There are probably still accommodations she needs because of the tail that she may still struggle to have access to. Even if it is just the tail, that tail is still enough to other her from humans and cause her problems and discrimination.
She should get to belong in that support group even if she gets told she’s not monster “enough”. She still shares some of the same struggles as them that are caused by being a monster, and needs support.
This is an excellent demonstration of the flaws in the concept of passing privilege. Bravo to the artist.
NOW I will reblog this.

You were born of a sacrilegious union. Your green dragon mom never figured the knight she seduced while masquerading as a noblewoman was a silver dragon in disguise. You’d no idea either, born a human orphan. When your dragon blood awoke, so did the dangers which all your heritage entails.
“I was born half dragon.”
“Oh shit, what’s the other half?”
“Different dragon.
“im two halves dragon” “thats just being a whole dragon” “YOUD FUCKING THINK SO WOULDNT YOU”
Maybe you've done one before but like an amphibian combined with a bee? An amphi-bee-an?
