I recovered my 8 year old Flight Rising account so here's my fursona as a Gaoler because I fucking Love Them
Saw the original image and couldn’t resist.
Banksy (Everlux) was kind enough to let Gorse (tundra) use himself as an ambassador so bug-fearing librarians wouldn’t get scared of the now public ancient breed.
(Ref below the cut)
Good evening, Everlux Disliker.
In front of you is a keyboard with teeth. Your task is to write a 1000 word essay about how exactly you think they're unfitting for the Light Flight, a group which includes barf-ball dragons and zombie body horror noodles, without implying that the Everlux's weight is a "flaw" or "disgusting" or "inelegant" or any other thinly veiled synonym for how much you hate fat people.
Should you fail, the keyboard will fold up like a mousetrap and eat your hands.
Begin.
flight rising fans i know we've all made the connection of everlux and aethers having beef because of the paper thing but listen. everlux who writes love letters for their aether partner to eat. is that anything

This Plague Doctor mask and headdress was designed to remind Native American people that they are survivors and warriors. Sickness and plagues are nothing new to Native people. Ever since first contact, Natives have faced new illnesses never before seen. Through it all, our people survive and thrive today. This work of art commemorates the fighting spirit of Native Americans.
The mask is made from premium Wicket and Craig tooling leather, and is hand sewn. The mask is done in a ledger art style. Written on the mask are various diseases that Native people have faced such as smallpox, cholera, typhoid, tuberculosis, and COVID-19. The lenses are wrapped in sweet grass and hand sewn as well. The plants and flowers are actually medicinal plants used by Native Americans for centuries. Marsh Marigold (yellow); Pokeweed (cone shape with purple berries); Purple Coneflower (lavender color with orange center); Skunk Cabbage (burgundy with bright green).
The headdress is made from hand painted imitation eagle feathers, ermine pelts, red wool, red horse hair, and buckskin leather. The band hand tooled, painted and also made from Wicket and Craig tooling leather. The cap is made from a re-purposed Buffalo felt hat, just as many real Plains headdresses are made.
The response to Everlux being deemed as "not Light Flight related" that's diligently important because everyone seems to forget fanon =/= canon material, even in the "let's disregard most canon anyway" game, because honestly not a lot of fanon is even similar between most players. I'm posting this publicly because I doubt everyone with this issue will actually go to the Dev Tracker and read this.
"Angels as the Light aesthetic or concept is fanon or head canon, not official canon.
Fanon/headcanons are valid for your own personal gameplay, but not what we base our development decisions on. We are also not responsible for player fanon or head canon.
Officially, Light Flight is about knowledge, scholarship, philosophy—not angels or seraphim. The Light dragons of the Sunbeam Ruins are philosophers. They prefer to be unbiased and logical, revealing the nature of the world as do the rays of the sun. Of all the dragons, Light dragons are the most scholarly, holding the pursuit of truth as the highest virtue a dragon might aspire to. Scrolls and relics are their favored treasures.
I should note here that many of your examples require the support of the accompanying lore articles and stories. Granted, Dusthide and Everlux currently don't have stories—and we plan on addressing that in the future—but even with just the breed articles, we can see where Everlux fit in.
They are bookwyrms. They are dedicated archivists. They live and move with grace, mindfulness, and elegance."

^^^^^ If anyone came up to me and read parts of my book series maybe 5 years ago and has had 70+ new headcanons in less than a week shared or taken in as canon by them, and they tried to correct my lore by saying "Well Actually, Author, you got X and Y wrong because I saw someone write fanfiction on them and-" I'd probably be needing to hire a PR manager to request the most "friendly" version of 'You didn't fucking write any of my books stop fucking acting like a brat because I'm not catering to fanfiction while I'm writing and creating more for my books.' they could muster before I went further than that.
People are acting like the devs and Moderation team are being cruel or horrible for "silencing criticism" but this just isn't criticism. Critiques can be made but they aren't just "I'm shitting on everything because *I* want things the way I like and nothing else." And honestly actual fucking Bookwyrms for the actual qualifying Nerd Flight is amazing as storytelling and as a pun. You couldn't come up with a more logical conclusion for this species without going into the same areas the FR staff has.
Question, do male ridgies greet each other like albatrosses do, y/n
absolutely yes
Aequorin can't say it so I will, if you're so fat phobic that round caterpillar dragons annoy you, you're weak, why are you playing an online pet sim with a bunch of furries lol???? Get good + get real + fat dragon supremacy + no wenches + don't care + having fun + playing :3
I don't even play much anymore, I'm not even a robot enthusiast, but this still mildly bothers me
Flight Rising dot com please let us have Metalloygment
Gaoler big meat fan
A day out and not so emotionally charged, I want to say that I think everyone should work to unpack their internalized fatphobia, but also their aversion to bugs. Yes, I recognize it's an extremely deep seated reaction for many of us, but your life will SIGNIFICANTLY improve once you can look at a bug or a representation of a bug without triggering a fight or flight response. I know it's hard, especially when the source of that aversion is related to personal trauma. I literally have this issue wrt cockroaches to the point where even the emoji can greatly upset me on a bad day, but it used to be a lot worse and applied to more bugs. Now I'm not exactly singing their praises every day, but I'm much less likely to have my day ruined by a surprise visitor. I can look at more things online without having my guard up. I can appreciate newer content for one of my Favorite Games.
You don't have to love bugs, but getting to a point where they are as inconsequential as like, a pigeon, is such a massive improvement in life.
"They don't fit Light's aesthetic!"
