not a perfect soldier, but a good man.
You can’t give me orders! The hell I can’t! I’m a Captain!
The serum was not ready. But more important, the man. The serum amplifies everything that is inside, so good becomes great; bad becomes worse.
"So, what’s so special about you?"
"Nothing. I’m just a kid from Brooklyn.’”
Captain Adorable (◕‿◕✿)
peggy having that particular picture of skinny steve is especially heartbreaking because the rest of the footage and photos of him that were preserved were probably post-serum, or at least the ones that dominate his image within pop culture? and she’s surrounded by that constantly, the legacy that starts to build around his transformation but places emphasis on everything he was and stood for post-serum.
peggy keeping a picture of pre-serum steve close to her to anchor that image of him in her brain when the rest of the world would make it so, so easy to forget. opening her drawer to stare at his face after seeing too many newsreels of steve as captain america and she’s finding it difficult to think of him as anything but 6’2” with a shield in his hand. peggy keeping that picture in particular in a sort of defiance because she WANTS to remember him small. that’s the way she loved him first. YOU KNOW!!!!
How about you? You ready to follow Captain America into the jaws of death?
