This one was also made for the challenge. We had to draw some aftermath of an event, that changed\shaped the person... Because the story of these two is actually devided by cases they solved, within six years of working together, this one is kind of ripped out of the middle. ...some man called Marcus and asked if he’d be able to help him, by getting rid of an annoying ghost that is haunting his mansion. This man inherited the mansion from his brother, who mysteriously went missing. He and his wife went to a business trip and then never came back. Their little daughter also dissapeared shortly after... Lars decided to tag along with Marcus and together they investigated the mansion under a watchful eye of a new master. The atmosphere was uneasy in the main hall, with the tall staircase and huge fishtank, in which were two big and ugly fishes of unfamiliar species. Lars felt sorrow and pain hanging in the air of the hall, like a dark mist it was suffocating him. Once their host, the owner of the mansion, left them for a moment to answer a call, they went in a coridor, leading to a door to the basement. And there Marcus saw a ghost of a little girl. She was crying. He tried talking to her, but only things he could understand were words “I miss. Parents. Basement. Let me out. Cold. Basement. Uncle.” When the echoing footsteps of the new owner creeped closer to the basement door, she let out a startled cry and run through the door back in the basement. Marcus and Lars followed the man back in the hall, while he was answering some quetions Marcus asked. Lars mentioned the uneasiness he felt near the fishtank. Marcus looked at it and his fasial expression changed from curious, to shocked, to furious. Clenching his fists he moved towards the owner, rapidly firing accusatory questions: “Who did you ask to do it? When you decided to kill your own brother!? Why?? What did you do to his daughter!?”.. Lars had to hold him by hands, because Marcus was ready to throw the fists. The owner was surprised at first, scared even. Then, he furrowed his brows and showed them to the door. After this tyrade, they were not welcome in the mansion anymore. Obviously.
What Marcus saw in the fish tank were frightning. This ritual was dark and he read about it before. When you “steal” the soul of a living being and tie it to the host - it can live forever, as long as lives the host. You can change the host numerous times. But the real body, the body this soul was born into - will die without it. The fishes had human faces...
