you didn’t colour your movie right i know 10 gif makers that could do a better job
being self aware suuuucks like yeah this thought pattern/behavior is stupid and pointless and a symptom. i know this. [does it anyways
Watching Louis descend into rage filled madness while plotting the demise of the coven, seeing him enter the theatre and soaking it with gasoline while the troupe slept, him reclaiming Claudia’s dress and her journals, his rage igniting the room, getting to listen to the coven scream as they’re burned to death or hacked apart or both, Eglee and Celeste caught completely by surprise and exploding in flames on their bikes, Louis baiting Santiago and not just cutting his head off (which I hope he felt every agonizing second of) but kicking it away like a fucking soccer ball
watching jacob anderson, sam reid and assad zaman in the same room together, just the three of them, is like watching a ping pong ball bouncing between one masterclass of acting to another to another
all 3 of them deserve all of the awards for the work they're doing on this show, as does the person/people responsible for casting them knowing they could just....do that.
no one prepares you for all the people you’re going to become in one single lifetime
who else is up and thinking about this is boring. you’re BORING. YOU ARE SO BORING. COLOURLESS, flavourless, dull, dull, dull nights, dull weeks, dull months, dull as FUCK. suffocation. by the world’s softest, beigest pillow. the ten hours i spent with that boy were more exciting, more fascinating, than DECADES with YOU
i love sitting in silence and i love saying nothing
doing stuff is so hard shout out to anyone who has done anything
I'm actually a very simple individual. I love symmetry. I love a full circle. I love an earned ending. I love when there is a woman who's story starts with her alone and having killed or outlived everyone she loves, ends with her finding true love, family, and community and rebuilding the world. I love when there is a daughter born into a broken grieving family, gets her whole family back against the odds. I love when a son born without a dad finds his dad who was without a son. I love when a show starts with it's protagonist desperately trying to return to his family and, after over a decade said show, ends with that protagonist returning to his family. I love endings that are, even after lifetimes have passed, are well-earned. I love when you care about characters for 14 years of your life and you get to see them meet a meaningful end 🥰
Yes to all this 👏🏽 AND...
I love when skilled actors, who know their characters better than anyone else, have a seat at the table, and are empowered to create the story and fight the executives whenever they try to derail their vision.
I've seen it over and over, the work that it takes to bring characters to life in the way Andy and Danai have done is HARD. It requires immense skill.
Their skill, their insights, their experience is all over TOWL. That's why Richonners are over the moon. They get us cause they are us.
This was a ROMANCE first. And if you understood that, then you understand TOWL.💗
They had a vision. Created a plan. And executed. 🥂
male gaze this female gaze that what about the gifmaker’s gaze
I’m so normal
Nvm
Also, can we just really take in the true excellence and impact of Michonne’s character.
She’s a black woman whose story isn’t defined by the hardship of being a black woman.
She’s given incredible emotional range. She’s absolutely badass and strong, but not stoic and stiff. She’s allowed to be as compassionate and nurturing as she is fierce. She expresses grief, loss, anger, pettiness and annoyance; she also expresses hope, love, devotion, loyalty, and bravery. She’s tough and hardcore, but also soft and feminine.
She’s not the sassy best friend. She’s not the magical negro. She’s not the stepping stone for the male MC to decide he doesn’t want. She’s not forgettable or disposable. She can challenge white characters (including the main man) without the writing trying to humble or punish her.
She’s pivotal (the ratings and fan engagement prove that). She’s desirable. She isn’t chasing after a man who barely considers her to own detriment. Her love interest loves her unconditionally. He respects her and wants her in EVERY way. He dreams of her. He can’t truly live without her.
THIS is an immaculate character, brought to life by an incredible actress who is valued in production, and backed by the narrative. THIS is what characters such as Bonnie Bennett and Abbie Mills (amongst others) deserved. THIS is what we want to see.
no but seriously he's "cut off my own hand to get back to my wife" crazy and she's "grab my husband and jump us both out of a flying helicopter in the middle of a storm to deprogram him" crazy. have two people ever been more made for each other
I can do anything. i might do it in tears but i can do it
You will never be at this age again, do what makes you happy.
SPEND THIS YEAR DOING MORE OF THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOUR HEART SOAR !!
in this new year I want you to be alright. I hope you move out. I hope you have enough money to feel safe. I hope you abandon shame and forgive yourself. I hope you get enough sleep and some good news. I hope you laugh a lot and the heaviness of the world eases a bit. I wish you to be alright.
