Males are considered completely expendable in most societies, and practically all modern ones.

If the Earth was treated the way males were treated, mainstream environmentalism would not exist at all. It would be considered a fringe bigoted movement, and any attempts to bring attention to mistreatment of the Earth would be met with either mockery, or the staunch denial that mistreatment of the Earth is a real thing.
