People say TLJ ruined SW and was subvert expectations. They’re wrong. At least 1/3rd of TLJ was good while the remaining part of it was just mediocre-bad.
The title of “worst SW movie that subverts expectations” SHOULD have gone to TROS.
There’s a reason people say it’s TLJ that ruined Star Wars. The people that think it ruined Star Wars aren’t masochistic enough to have watched TROS.

I know I at least saw parts of TLJ and (less of) TROS but to tell the truth it’s just one long, nightmarish blur after Han died. Or maybe that was just a dream too. I hope so.
The Disney trilogy exists in my memory only as a disconnected series of cringey 3-second memes, which is about its level of artistic worth.
