I am certainly appreciative that only women have to deal with body shaming and people mocking their appearances.

I simply couldn’t imagine if men had to also deal with people making rude comments about their appearances.

And I’m especially happy that i didnt find this post on multiple blogs that just got done talking about how women are judged on their appearances and how bad that is or blogs that do this and state that men dont understand. Otherwise i might have to question their activism.

“Nerd” used to be an insult, until the hobbies of the nerd became mainstream. To find a new insult, they now call nerds “incels”.

Different name, same absolute disgust and disdain and outright hatred for another human being whom they decided isn’t fit to be accepted in society. The same mocking laughter and self-righteous sense of superiority. The same absolute lack of empathy or compassion.

I don’t know how this message could be unclear, but I get a number of responses from people who don’t seem to understand that I’m criticizing those people who label others “incels” as an ad hominen attack to ignore messages by attacking the messenger; dismissing the humanity of complainers to avoid addressing their complaints.

I’m not offering a defense of people who proudly self-identify as “incels”. I don’t begin to understand why anyone would take it as a badge of honor; I said it was a new insult. Half of the term comes from the word “involuntary”. If you’re actually an involuntary celibate, by definition it’s not your choice.

If you are celibate by choice, by definition you’re not an “incel”. You might be part of the MGTOW (Men Going There Own Way) movement, but my post isn’t meant to address that movement at all.

Anyone who tries to confuse the matter isn’t interested in actual debate, and isn’t happy to have someone call them out on twisting definitions and using labels to shut down conversation, because they don’t actually have a winning argument.

Lot of people in the notes are conflating incels with pickup artists. They’re the ones that think women owe them and are entitled and misogynistic. Incels are more awkward people that don’t know how to make a connection. There’s a huge distinction.

Especially if its really fucked up shit like "omg he's got a small dick" like fucking hell have some compassion if not for the person you dislike but for the people who have to hear that and are basically being told their appearance is only acceptable if they act how you want them to

Also i kinda want to add incel onto here because yeah there are obviously people who use the lable and are cunts but the underlying concept of mocking people for being social outcasts unable to build human relationships is really starting to wear thin
