Random question cause I was watching this video and then remembered the time I was talking to someone about playing chess as a kid and they told me they didn't know how to play chess and I thought that was insane cause I thought everyone knew how to play it so
Who knows or doesn't know how to play chess
Both me and my brother were taught by our grandad as kids and I agree, I rarely run into people who don't know how to play chess or at least know the movement of the pieces
I googled and idk how reliable this source is but it says only 10 to 15 million people in U.S. know how to play chess!! There are 328.2 million people in the U.S.!! That's insane!!
That does feel pretty low! Hmm i wonder how accurate it is
Its accurate. Chess is something I learned to play but no one else in my grade or it seems school back in the 90's did or cared to.
Chess is a very boring game that has very little appeal to many people.
That too. I really dislike it because both sides are evenly matched.
I'm not particularly good at it, but I do know the rules...
You know the rules and so do I...
You lost the game.
Used to play it quite a lot in school, some of my classmates knew the rules, but not that many played.
I know the rules but I also know that most people don't.
I'd say 1 in 20 people knows...
I was more of checkers player as a kid, though I did learn eventually. I don’t want to say I learned chess from reading and watching The Sorcerer’s Stone but...
It did help.
I don’t know how to play Chess. It seems like it could be fun but always felt too complicated when I’d try to learn. I don’t think I’ve ever known anybody who played it, either.
