Nessian Theory

So I’m currently writing a post-ACOFAS Nessian fic and I was rereading the scene where Cassian reflects on his time during the Blood Rite. When I stumbled upon this I had a ‘holy shit’ moment.

WHAT IF Cassian and Nesta participate in the Blood Rite in the next book? We’ve had so much information about it and it’s clear that the Blood Rite plays some sort of significant role in the next book.

A lot of people, including me, have been wondering if Nesta would do the Rite in order to heal in some way. What if she did it with Cassian?

They would stick together throughout and get to know each other but at the same time have to protect one another. It would force Nesta to speak with him and use the rage bottled up inside her in a way that’s necessary.

Idk, let me know what you guys think! I just thought it would make a very good conflict and plot!

ACOFAS Spoilers-

I might get a lot of hate for this, but oh well.

There's one thing in ACOFAS that's been eating at me a lot: Rhysand.

Let me begin with, I do not hate Rhysand, but lately, he's been annoying me. I strongly feel that everyone should be treated equally, and I feel like Rhysand would be one to agree; the only problem is: he's doing the exact opposite.

Nesta. Nesta, throughout ACOFAS, was struggling with PTSD. A lot of the Inner Circle was, though, personally, I think Nesta got the short end of the stick. Nesta loves Feyre. She truly does, but she shows it in very subtle ways which we're not used to, but for four to five years, Nesta, supposedly, was a bully towards Feyre.

Now, Rhysand being Feyre's mate and all, of course he's going to be annoyed/mad at Nesta for taking her little sister for granted. That makes sense. What made my liking for Rhysand as a character drop in this book is the fact that he fully blames Nesta for what happened those four to five years, but he places absolutely no blame on Elain. That's wrong. Elain was a bystander. She didn't help Feyre at all, she just sat in her small ass garden and planted seeds all day; nonetheless, Rhysand is still very kind, very loving, very welcoming of Elain, but he fucking hates Nesta.

Rhysand's excuse for not blaming and hating Elain is: "Elain is Elain" (Maas 51). Would you like to know what he's saying? He's saying he doesn't blame Elain because she is weak and submissive. Because she is gentle and kind and because she let's others stomp over her—that's why it's not Elain's fault. No. No, Elain deserves as much disgust and hate that Nesta gets. I don't care if "[Nesta's] an Illryian at heart" (Maas 51) no, she's human. She's not a type of Fae with bat wings. She's going to make mistakes and she's going to do a lot of shitty things in her life, just because "she's an Illryian at heart" (Maas 51) does not mean she can't make mistakes or do shitty stuff.

Elain is a bystander. I doubt that she'll ever not be a bystander. She didn't stand up for Feyre once. And she deserves as much blame as Nesta is getting for her actions.

"If you blame one, you have to blame the other" (Maas 51).
