Seeing HúLíJing more plumpy than ever, HuaHua complained that XiâoBâo has spoiled her way too much during the months he disappeared on them she was in his care. Turns out she just had a secret life at Tianji Manor and was expecting puppies. (She's about 7 in this headcanon).

For some reasons, the puppies seem to love a-Fei the most. FDB is not vexed at all!! (He is just very a little jealous)

Edit: Oops! Oops I was too focused on how I wanted the puppy in a-Fei's collar that realised too late that it's tied on the wrong side! Too late for the reblogs already out there! 😅

Lycoris Aurea*

Happiness, courage in adversity, placing hopes in the future.

My HC here: DFS followed the tales of a golden flower blooming in the legendary PéngLái Immortal Island 蓬萊仙島** beyond the Eastern Sea and managed to find it after an arduous journey.

Consumed by them both and combined with their respective blends of YángZhouMàn, BeiFengBáiYáng and the cleansing technics from LXY's master, it successfully cured HuaHua's poison, at the price of half of DFS's inner power***. HuaHua's hair turned totally white in the process.

👩‍🦳

* Lycoris flowers are actually toxic to humans and animals - do not touch/sniff/eat!
** Of course I picked Formosa/Taiwan among the many theoretical locations for the legendary island and the actual places where the flower is endemic.
*** And I just wanted to draw a-Fei with facial hair 🤭!

Xue Mùwén 薛慕雯

Character notes by @howling-harpy :

  • The next reincarnation of Jin GuangYáo
  • His given name 謠 (Yáo) means "popular ballad" or "rumour".
  • His courtesy name 慕雯 (MùWén) means "to admire multicoloured clouds"
  • Abandoned as a baby by an unknown birth mother, adopted and raised by Xue Minghua since infancy
  • He's the youngest of his generation, but has studied demonic cultivation the longest
  • A very gifted student who reads a lot and tries his hardest to be good at everything. His studies have probably the largest variety, and his cultivation style draws from it all.
  • His personal weapons are a pair of deerhorn knives
  • He's eager to grow up fast and prove himself worthy to everyone else, but mostly to himself.
  • His favorite foods are fried tofu and spicy noodle soup.
  • He says his favorite animal is the red panda, but he secretly loves tigers.

Xue MíngHúa 薛冥華

Character notes by @howling-harpy :

  • Born 四娘 (Sì-Níang lit. Fourth Daughter), since at the time it was common that girls were not named at all. Her childhood nickname was 小桑 (Xîao Sang) according to the berries she picked.
  • Born in a southern region to a poor rural family.
  • The family profession was silk weaving that includes raising silk worms, handling the cocoons into raw material by boiling them and taking the catepillar out, then weaving the material into thread.
  • She was married off unhappily, lost her first baby in childbirth, and ran away. According to gossip, she managed to curse and kill her husband in process.
  • After joining the Xue clan, she started cultivating relatively late in life, and thus looks older than cultivators usually do.
  • Her Master gave her the name MíngHúa, "the underworld flower", reminding her that even after tragedy and torment one can flourish.
  • Her main spiritual tool is her flute, but she also carries a red parasol she uses as a weapon if needed.
  • Eventually she inherited the clan leader's title, 蟄魅閣主 (ZhíMèi GéZhû), "Master of the hibernating demon pavilion".
  • She's Yáo's adopted mother, even though nowadays he adresses her formally as the clan leader like all other disciples. She's hurt about this, but chooses not to say it. The elders always said she babied him too much and became too attached.
  • She still enjoys all sorts of hand crafts, and sews all her own clothes. She also does embroidery, basket weaving and shoe-making.
  • In the cultivation society, she's known as a tricky, strong-willed and a bit brash woman who has a tendency to get her way. Continuing the Xue tradition of getting the clan over the class barrier is her responsibility and she's succeeded mostly with jokes, sheer gull and bribary with candy and cakes the Xue clan is famous for.

Mourning tune

Climbing vines encircle the hawthorn tree • Bindweed spreads over the cemetery • My love is buried here • No companion, she is alone.

Please find his name...

My favourite "case" from Oh No! Here Comes Trouble/不良執念清除師 (Master cleaner of unhealthy obsessions).

It's a beautiful Taiwanese drama of supernatural tales about grief, healing and kindness; with top notch writing and acting which are sadly too often lacking in Mainland China productions.
Traditions and beliefs are still very present in Taiwan and the serie shows how the barriers between our world and others seem to be thinner there.
This is going directly on the top of my all time favourites, East-Asian and Western series combined.

I was reborn in chaos like a lotus flower • The darkness embraced me

Dew seems sweet when it's only drops • The sun shines on it as it glides • Down lotus leaves and evaporates into the day

My dew drops felt more like rain • Dew wasn't sweet, it was formative • It wasn't cooling, it was cold • It didn't glide, it seeped through to my pores • I could feel it grasp my ribs and shift my soul • And my breaths were pressed against it • Deep breaths were a conscious effort

Oh, the leaves of my lotus flower • Pink or covered in mud, they formed • The leaves of my darkest hour • Invisible under mud, reborn

Chrisette Michele - The Lotus And The Mud

Though lotus flower has its root in the darkness of the mud, it grows to rise beautiful and immaculate above water and move towards the light, symbolizing rebirth and transcendence.
Hopefully the new generation will be brighter than their war torn seniors'.
