I'm feeling so sassy today.

I was feeling a quickie today. I'd really like to further explore transforming recognizable objects, portraits, still lives, etc. into polygons. I like the way it looks so much, and it's artistically challenging which is something I don't always get out of my toons though I love them dearly. It's sort of like a marriage between my toony, graphic taste and traditional art and the depiction of the real world. I like both but have never been able to work out a middle ground successfully, so maybe this is what I've been searching for.

I don't post WIP's often because I usually finish illustrations all in one go. But I'm using my Deleter ink so I have to wait for it to dry before I can break out the watercolors D:

Practicing with my G-pen and inking techniques. It's interesting how strongly I associate G-pens with drawing manga to the extent that I never seriously considered using it for my usual cartoons until now. But I actually really dig the line texture and my Deleter ink is waterproof and perfect for diluted ink shading. It takes more time than just whipping out fine liners but I'm able to get a lot more detail out of my drawings which is always nice. Sometimes I'm impatient or sloppy and it gets smudged though...

Attacking my weaknesses, I suck at anatomy! There's an awesome figure drawing tool I like to use here. What I like about it is the class mode where it starts off fast and the time for each gradually gets longer and the amount of sketches per time limit decreases.The 30 minute session is great for some quality draw time dedicated solely to figure drawing. Though you can also do classic timed quickies over and over again too C:

I'm trying to sketch more again.

I'm really sick and one of the side effects is reading wayyyy too much manga. At least it inspires me to draw more.

The top was a thumbnail for what was going to be a much larger drawing, but then I decided against it. So I'm currently working on the bottom thumbnail. It's a painting and so far so gooood.
