BPC Day 3: Road Trip
I have read every Mistborn book while on a trip of some kind!
Since @bookdepository on Twitter asked to spell out NOVEMBER using book titles, I managed to spell it with only books I've already read! Which was quite the challenge, if I'm honest 😂 I made it even more difficult and tried to only include one book of each author as well. 📚 Yesterday was really damn productive, I worked on the school project for the whole day and managed to complete the task of making a quest-system for our game! Today, on the other hand is the opposite, I've got no motivation whatsoever and I don't feel too well so I'm trying to not punish or push myself too much. 📚 #QOTD what book or series do you turn to when you don't feel well? 📚 I'd probably go for Vampire Academy, which I read about 4 times already and reread every 2 years or so. Sooo I started Loveless at 12am And finished it right at 3am because I just couldn't stop reading. I loved it so so much and I think it represents the aro-ace spectrum so well. I will definitely be writing a detailed review that might be as long as the book itself but who knows? 📚 This book was exactly what I've been wanting to read. Just everything, all the things I've read, I felt so seen and heard and all things that Georgia struggled with were so accurate for me and I just really felt everything throughout my reading and even cried about two times. I remember one time someone tried to compare JKR and Rick Riordan to me and claimed that Rick is also writing representation for publicity but they are literally in no way comparable?? Like?
JKR:
- Never shows Dumbledore as explicitly gay as canon
- Falsely claimed that Hermione had never been described as white even though she had
- Gave Cho Chang, a Chinese character, a name made of two Korean surnames
- Took South Asian mythology and cast an East Asian woman to play the character, who is literally a pet snake to wizard hitler and whose hobby is to obey her master
- When asked if Charlie is gay, responded ‘no, Dumbledore’s gay’
- Made Queenie, a Jewish woman, side with the other wizard hitler

Maybe Rick’s representation isn’t perfect all the time, but at least he used his platform to try to give as much canon representation as he can and in a way that children can understand, instead of just tweeting about it and refusing to put it in his books
