Y’know at first I was wondering why she didn’t just bend to defeat them. Firebending would’ve taken them out much faster. But instead, she took all these evasive maneuvers and instead of incapacitating them via injury, she wrapped them in canvas (?) and tied them up with rope, all without dealing them serious injury. Why? Because they’re her tribemates. Chances are, she’s known these people since she was small, and the fact that they think she’s betraying them when she’s just trying to help them is tearing her up inside.
As the director of this episode, I can confirm that this assessment is correct. This is what we were going for.
Progress on my #korrasami print for #eccc !

"Oh no, not pink. Make it blue!" "Pink." I wanted to draw a nice crossover between TLOK and a disney film, then their color-scheme reminded me of the three fairies from Sleeping Beuty and I ended up with this. Life is precious, I regret nothing.
Korrasami Samurai AU piece. Korra goading Asami’s horse because.
Here is a detail of a rough concept for a cover. We didn’t end up going with this option, but I still like it. Sketch by Lauren Montgomery. Color by me.
My kickass baes past & present
pointing and tellin’ it like it is
this was like make fave thing, that they kept toph’s mannerisms and style of speech was so important to me
Because Toph is blind pointing is a gesture of power for her. She’s showing she knows where you are despite being unable to see you.
My headcanon is that Korra would be a little shit and tell her parents to deal with it instead of apologizing. That is basically what I’m doodling now, if you want context for this random doodle :’D
I think it is unlikely that I will show in the book 4 LOK fire nation. So I decided to paint the entrance to the capital during the reign of his Zuko’s daughter . Of course (as I want the good fortune Azula) I drew two huge statues of the “heroes of Fire” Zuko and Azula like statues in Republic City.
