This is a super belated Birthday gift to @zlukaka, featuring Shaazgai - one of my favourite characters from her and @luffik 's novel City and the Beast. Saying I adore him is an understatement. Also he is a walking red flag. But then again red is my favourite colour.... Day 9 - The Grandfather - Penny

Not a grandpa of anyone in particular, but rather ambiguously old, Penny gets the spotlight for day 9.

Day 8 - The Mechanic 

Sven is not afraid to wear colorful hair bands like a schoolgirl, he knows they make him even more pretty and conventionally attractive. This biking Viking blacksmith mechanic (what can’t he do, really) will be joining the Pharaohs for Season 2, I mean, Book 2. In fact, you will meet him for the first time in the story Trial and Erro that goes in-between the books. 

Here he is, flipping Yen off while kissing his bicep and batting his eyelashes all at the same time - the contest for the best mechanic in New Coalport is on!

Day 8: The Mechanic - Yen

It’s the 90s. And not even Blaze’s magic could save Yen’s hair from all the damage it suffered in the 80s. What Yen lost in hair he compensated for in tattoos. His favorite pink top is still going strong, if faded and torn. The heavy metal aesthetic also began coalescing into something very edgy. And he opened his own workshop.

There’s fierce competition in town, or at least that’s what you’d think from the way Yen reacts to any other mechanic so much as showing his face around the Pharaohs. Territorial much.

Day 6: The Evil One Shaazgai’s much dreaded Master and boss, Mr. A, aka the Persian god of chaos Ahriman. He goes by Jerry Käse these days, because Tom and Jerry is his favorite cartoon and he really, really likes cheese.

Anyway, nobody tell Shaazgai that his boss watches cartoons, that he currently lives in New Coalport or that a certain someone calls his dark Master moosh-moosham (Persian for my mousey mouse)… Nobody tell Shaazgai anything or the whole Zaroastrian gig is up! Luckily he mostly only ever sees his Master’s iron-tipped shoes as he kneels before whatever desk Ahriman materializes with his feet on.

The crescent moon glasses are perfectly practical - they cover up the dark circles under his eyes (Mr. A lives a very stressful life, partially because of having to keep all the above things secret from Shaazgai)! You can read our City and the Beast novel for free at sharadrass.com!

Day 6 - The Evil One - Ahriman

Since I did Shaazgai yesterday, I decided to go for someone else. And who better to replace him with than his boss, Ahriman, or as Shaazgai would refer to him “Mr. A”. This human form is not one Shaazgai is familiar with, and he would never believe that this is his dark omnipotent master, sporting a literally cheesy tie. It’s a strategic tie, a Shaazgai-repellant, creates a suspension of belief.

Unfortunately I have an early morning tomorrow, so I won’t finish this one tonight, but it’s coming along nicely.

Don’t worry, it’s not his blood. :P

Shaazgai is the most beautiful and dangerous person in New Coalport. Immortality, eternal beauty and youth - those things don’t come free. And Shaazgai is diligently paying his dues.
