On the other side, I've been on plenty of birth control options. for 6 years I had a copper IUD. it does make your periods heavier, and crampier if you can stand that, but it has no hormones in it and it lasts 12 years.
If you don't want to have a uterus anymore, states that guarantee trans healthcare but are reluctant to pay for hysterectomies for cis women may pay for a hysterectomy if you are on Medicaid when they otherwise wouldn't if you ask for it as gender confirming care. You don't have to have dysphoria about your entire gender to have it about part of your gender.

Hello, yes, I literally just did what jen said in order to get my yeeterus done; I got it done in August 2024 and because I am on Medicaid it cost me $0.00. I was trying to get it done as a medically-necessary hysterectomy bc I have fibroids, and Medicaid was fighting me over whether it was Truly Necessary. Because transition care is required to be covered in OR, once we switched to it being a gender-affirming surgery, the approval sailed through.
You will need to find 2 mental health professionals (LSW or more, basically) to write letters stating that you have gender dysphoria and a hysterectomy would fix that, basically. You can usually find providers who will do this for free, as a donation of their time/writeoff. I was able to find resources for this in local queer FB groups pretty easily.
